The thundering of the horses hooves on the cobbled pathway startled me awake. I hadn't realized I'd fallen asleep.1
We entered the giant casle holding hands. Casper often threw glances at me, or clenched his cold hand tightly against mine.2
When we entered the great hall, everyone turned to stare. I heard gasps, and surprised murmers. People said, "She must be a princess," and "How beautiful she is!"3
We passed Christine and Angelica. They looked at me with their mouths open. I giggled quietly.4
Casper gently pulled me toards the middle of the room, and we began to dance. We slid across the polished tiels, this way and that, graceful as swans. 5
Casper clenched my hands tightly, and soon, we were tired. 6
Everyone had stopped staring, and we slid into the rose garden. 7
He sat me on a bench and looked me in the eyes.8
Then leaning forwards, he kissed me on the cheek.9
At first I was afraid of the touch. Had he lost control now, of all times?10
Then, I realized what he was doing, and stood up abruptly.11
"I'm not doing this." I informed him.12
His eyes were brown pools of sorrow. Suddenly, decision lit his eyes, and he pulled me into a small space in between two rose bushes, enough space for both of us and a gorilla.13
Ignoring my protest, he kissed me softl agian on the cheek. "I'm not listening to you." He informed me, and kissed me on the lips.14
I felt like puking and cheering at the same time. When had casper had his last meal? And then again, he was kissing me, really kissing me, hidden in a rose-bush he kissed me. 15
Dizzily, I tried to get up.16
"When was your last meal?" I choked out. He stood up. 17
"A long itime ago. To long." He muttered. "I need to eat."18
I stood up. Kissing me on the lips once more, he ran off to find a meal before mingling with his guests.19
