The haunted neckless

I was walking home from school one day when somthing caghut my eye.It was a gold shiny thing.I decided to stop and take a look.It was half buried into the ground so i had to dig with my hands to get it out.It was a little box.It was looked.But it had an arrow pointing west with a picture of a key next to it.I decided to go that way and take a little look just in case.when I got to an old oak tree there was a key hanging real high up in the tree.So high it was only a dot.I couldn't relly make out what it was I just guessed what it was.so i put the box in my shoulder bag and started climbing the tree.I was only half way up when i noticed that my watch said 10 to 4.Mum was going to kill me if i didn't get back by 4.So i climbed back down the tree and as i walked home i decided i would,as tomorow was saturday,climb the tree and get to the were the key like thing was hanging and see what it was I wasn't about to leave it a secret.So i went back home the box in my shoulder bag.2

"Sophie!Why are you back so late!?" said my mum as i got home.3

I wasn't going to tell her the real reaon so i just said:4

"School went out a bit late cos umm the clocks were wrong and umm at twenty to four we only just noticed that the clocks were wrong"I lied.I couldn;t help feel a twing of guilt that i just heard my own voice lie to my own mum.5

"Well just as well you're back in time for your dinner i will forgive you this time but don't let it happend again"With that my mum went back to the kitchen.I went upstairs and got changed then went down for dinner.I did the pots and decided i had just enghth time mabe to climb the tree and get the key or the thing hanging there.6

"Mum i'm going to go out for half an hour"I said.7

"No you can't you have to stay and clean your room it is an apsalot state!"said mum.8

"Oh bum"I murmerd and went upstair.I couldn't belive that my brother had done it and was in my doorway laghthing!9

"Just wait till i get my hands on you!"I shouted and with that he ran to his room and looked the door.Now i was laghthing!When i was finished with my room i looked at my watch.Darn! It was 9'o'clock no time tonight oh well i had got all day tomorow.ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz.I was fast asleep when a noise woke me.I sat boltupright in my bed and looked and my watch.Half past 3 in the morning!What could have awaken me?I turned on my flashlight not wanting to wake anyone eles up.I turned to the were the noise was coming from and a horrible scary sight meet my eyes!The gold box was ratteling and shaking!I shivered.I was soo scared that when I opened my mouth to scream nothing came out.I was scared stiff.My willpower kept me from passing out but only just because i felt giddy.I started walking over to the box.It was on my dressing table just in front of my mirror.I picked up the gold box and put it in my dresser draw and i decided to deal with it tomorow cos i was tired out.10

So i went back to sleep and slept till 7 in the morning.11

"Soph breakfast is ready!"Called my dad from downstairs."Bruce is alreadydown so hurry down please!"12

"Ok,coming!"I shouted back.I hurridely shoved some clothes on,brushed my teeth,shoved the gold box in my shoulder bag and rushed down the stairs.13

"Good morning hon"said my mum as i got to the table and put my shoulder bag next to my chair.14

"Whats in the bag soph?"Asked my brother Bruce.15

"None of your buisness"I said normally and not nastaly.16

"Well i'm gunna find out"said bruce and went over to my shoulder bag.17

"Good luck unlooking it"I said.I had had a lock put on it and i always had the key in my ziped up pocket.18

"Got to go mum i have some stuff to do before lunch"I said after doing the pots.19

"Okay hon"said my mum and i ran out of the front door before mom changed her mind.20

I walked over to the oak tree.I was bit frightened of what I would find because of last night.Yep.I hadn't forgoten.I got up to the what i thought was the key.I was right.I unhooked the key and climbd back down.It fitted the hole in my gold box.I turned the key slowely.It opened at last.I looked in the box and there was the most beautifull neckless i ever seen and a note.The note said.21

It must have been some kind of code i would worry about that later.I picked up the necless and put it on.As I walked to the park I triped over and fell into a mud puddle.I was covered in mud.And to make matters worse I fell in front of this lady and she got mud on her too.23

"Oh i am ever sorry here borrow my hankey!"I said as i gave the lady my hankey.24

"Oh its quite all right oh i see you have that necless on"she said.25

"You know about this necless it came with this note in code."26

"Well i can't tell you anything but this:I once wore that necless and i couldn't understand the code so i just went around wearing it and the things that happened to me!You wouldn't belive.I finaly worked out the code and well i can't tell you anymore I was told not to tell anyone and let them work it out for themselfs." The old lady smiled."I can tell you one more well two more things one:I won't be seeing you sunday And Two:Good luck"With that the lady went away.I wondered why i wouldn't see her tomorow i always came by here and so did that lady oh well i had better go home for lunch. 27

"Sophie why is there 3 broken plates in the cobard?"Asked my mum when i got home.28

"But i didn't do that it must have been-"29

"Don't try and blame it on bruce he has been at a friends house and is staying there all day so i couln't have been him you are grounded for three weeks only going to school or the libary to study or somthing importent"30

I was astonished."What about swimming lessons?"31

"Ok but thats it"Said my mum very firmly and now there is no changing her mind.32

I went to my room.It was an absalot state again!And my jelrey box was open and all my neclesses and braceless and everything was everywere.My glass fairy was smashed.That really upset me because it was a my first ever birthday present from my mum and dad.My window was wide open and my curtiens were riped.I HAD to find out what that code was it might have somthing to do with it.So After dinner i closed and locked my door not wanting mum or dad to see my bedroom and went downstairs and out to the libary.I remember seeing a speacil book once in a glass covering called 'The Necless'.It had a picture,now i come to think of it,Of a necless just like mine.33

"I see you have the necless"said mrs holy the libarian.34

"Everyone knows about this necless why?"35

"Read this book and find out i only let people with the necless read this book it is a very speacil book and has a code inside it. Here"Said the libarian handing me the book.36

"Thax"i said and went and sat down in a bean bag and started to read.37

Oh no!It was 6o'clock closing time ad time for me to go home cos i was grounded.43

I went to give the book back looking gloomily.44

Mrs hooly must have guessed why i was looking gloomy.45

"Keep the book untill monday"She said.46

"Well thank you sooo much!"I went out the door skiping.49

That night I wasn't allowed to read in bed so I had to turn the light out.I put the necless on this hanger thing and went to sleep.I had a nightmare.I saw the necless in the middle and my best friend lilly shouting at me,My mum shouting at me for the broken plates,my brother in the doorway laghthing all in a circle around the necless and the the background suddenly turn into the book i had.It went on with that but all of it spining then i woke up.I looked at my watch it was 7 in the morning one more hour of sleep.I had that same dream again.The next day i was to scared to go near the necless nor book.I just left it all day.Mum told me off for some stuff i wasn't listening to blah blah blah then i went to bed.I had the exact same dream but around the eadge was the necless and in the middle of the circle was the book.I woke up at 8 and wonderd for some time and then got up.It was bank holiday monday.I went to my bedroom after breakfast and read 'The Code' chapter.50

That was then end of the chapter.I went pale.I screamed and fainted.Mum and dad and bruce ran upstair and put me on my bed.Bruce secretly purded water on my face.53

"BRUCE!"I heard my mum shouting but then stopped i was awake and blinking.54

"Sophie!Honey!You ok?"asked my mum and dad.55

"Yeah im ok"I smiled weakly.56

"You lie down for a while bruce leave that book alone and come back downstairs." said dad.I went to sleep and woke up to find mum sitting by my bed with some hot soup.57

"I was worried you wouln't wake up!"she said."Here is some soup to keep you going befor supper if you want it that is."58

"Thanx mum"I said a bit better now.I thought for a while about the book.I did have a boyfriend considering i was 12.He loved me too but we hadn't see each other for a while since he was on holiday i decided when he got back tomorow cos we always kissed and hugged not like relly thing only playing and quick kisses on cheeks and mabe on lips somtimes i would kiss him befor sunset piece of cake.I woke up next morning feeling bright and cheerfull and the necless in the box ready to be put back.At break i went over to Skip my borfriend and said hi blah blah blah and he lifted my chin up to kiss we had the most romantic kiss ever.I had put the necless back buy the oak tree and it was like the whole world ahd lifted of my shoulders.When i got home mum came over to me and said:59

"Sorry about the plates it turns out it was your dad and you'r not grounded for three weeks anymore"60

"Okay thax"I went upstairs.61

I lovely sight meet my eyes.My room was perfectly clean and nothing was smashed or ripped it was all back to normal! Well thank goodness for that!62
