“What did you say?” Jax asked, not moving a muscle. 2

“I am a Vampire,” Ben repeated, holding still and waiting for a lash-out, “I am not human.” 3

“Yah, right,” Jax smirked for a moment then went serious again, “You’re serious? You expect me to believe that?” 4

“Yes.” 5

“I don’t.” 6

“Sam is a Vampire too,” Ben said, “That is why it was so hard to just say bye I think. He already knew what I was and liked me for it, until all the bad happened. But Jax, I only didn’t tell you because I knew you wouldn’t believe me and I didn’t want you to think me a freak.” 7

“Get off of me,” Jax said calmly, not moving but waiting. “Now.” 8

“Look at my eyes, Jax,” Ben said shutting them and making them glow slightly. 9

“Fuck you, Ben. Get off of…” Jax hissed, “What the fuck …how are you…Ben?” 10

“I am a Vampire,” Ben repeated staring down at Jax. He reached up and scratched his cheek, feeling his blood slide out, and waited patiently for the skin to heal. Jax watched in amazement as the skin closed over and the wound healed, only a small trail of blood remaining on his chin. “I am no human.” 11

“You are serious?” Jax stared at the blood on his chin as he spoke, shivering lightly below him. Ben hated that he shivered and leaned down to kiss him, but Jax turned his head, “No.” 12

“Please, Jax, please don’t push me away,” Ben pleaded trying again, kissing Jax all over his face until he finally got his lips. Jax lay still and didn’t kiss him back, but Ben took what he could get. He lifted and looked down, meeting Jax’s dark eyes and tried to smile. “I’m not lying. I will do whatever it takes to convince you of what I am. I will show you anything I am capable of showing.” 13

“Who’s blood did you have?” Jax asked, “I mean, Vampire’s feed on blood right?” 14

“Yes,” Ben said staring. 15

“Then who did you have when you got hungry and with me? Sam?” 16

“I just …no, not Sam.” Ben didn’t want to say that he had been feeding on the homeless. He felt low in that and didn’t want Jax to know. “Just people.” 17

“You kill them?” 18

“No,” Ben shook his head, “I just took their memory.” 19

Jax lay under him, unmoving for about five minutes. He just continued to stare at Ben, his eyes showing doubt but belief at the same time. His hand came up and lightly ran over Ben’s lips for a second then he pushed so that it went inside his mouth and explored Ben’s fangs with curious eyes. “Did you ever want my blood?” 20

“Yes.” 21

Jax pushed his finger up and cut it on Ben’s left fang. Though Ben wanted to latch on to the small cut, he let Jax control the situation. Jax pushed his finger deeper and spread his blood on Ben’s tongue, watching Ben’s reaction. He pulled his finger out and let it run along his bottom lip, his blood spreading like gloss. “You want it now?” 22

“Do you believe me, Jax?” Ben held his breath and waited. 23

“I don’t know, Ben,” Jax answered still fingering Ben’s lip, “But one thing, I do know is that …I love you.” 24

“I love you too,” Ben said quickly, still tense. 25

“And since I love you, I want to understand this. So, Ben, if you are a Vampire, then you will have no problem biting me, right? I mean, feeding off of me and not just ‘people’. So that is what you will do to prove to me. Take my blood.” 26

“Jax,” Ben shook his head and Jax shut his eyes. Ben felt the pain going through the man so he reached up and cupped his cheek, “Look at me.” 27

“Please, Ben, do this for me.” Jax opened his eyes, “help me believe.” 28
