It all began one September night...1
The cool September air whipped through the night, its whistle echoing off the pavement. The street was dark, and it seemed as though it had been deserted years ago. The houses along this strip were completely still, some burned out, otheres boarded up. A menacing silence eminated from each house, but there was one house however, that was a little different. One lone candle flickered in the window, giving the impression that someone didn't want to be seen. Footsteps emerged, and an attractive, dark haired female slowly wandered into the dark. Brown eyes glowing, she licked her lips and turned around. Scanning the black oblivion, she felt safe, and let her defense down. Closing her eyes, she concentrated on the task at hand. Seeing her from the front, she seemed pretty normal. But behind her was a different story. At once her shoulder blades began to split, and shiny, black wings appeared behind her instantly. She grinned, and four very sharp teeth extended from her gums. Soaring up into the sky, she hissed, and flew away in search of nourishment. A few hours later, she landed back in front of the house, her brown eyes glowing red and blood dripping from her mouth. A satisfied look on her face, her wings disappeared back under her skin, and she walked into the house. The candle in the window flickered and then was gone, a wisp of smoke into the air. But the night was far from over, the area promising many more prey to this hungry creature. She knew she was going to like living here.
