Vampire Kisses 2- Creatures of the Night

"Claude, please, help Rain!" Alexander pleaded. "You have to make her a vampire or she won't live ever again!" Claude smiled a bit and whispered,1

"Fine. I'll save her. On one condition." He laughed.2

"What condition?" Alexander asked through clenched teeth.3

"Tell the vampire, Valentine, that Rain's newfound friend, Kit, and I are dating. Rain and Kit confide in eachother. That should rip her heart out!"4

Alexander was to shocked to say anything for a minute. Finally he managed to say,5

"Fine. Just save her now." Alexander dissapeared into the thick trees. Claude turned to my dead body. He walked over to me and bit into his wrist, coating his lips with blood.6

"It will be nice to share a kiss. Don't you agree?" He laughed again.7

He picked up my body and his face came towards mine. He kissed me. At first it was only to get the blood flowing through me. My eyes opened and I stared into his. I knew I shouldn't have, but I kissed him back. His eyes brightened and I passed out. He set me gently on the ground and ran the way opposite way of Alexander.8

I awoke, again, to the deafening silence of the clearing.9

"Alexander?" I screamed. "Alexander? Where are you?" No answer came. I tried to remember where I was and what had happened but I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried nothing came to me! I saw someone walk out of the trees. I could tell it was a vampire.10

"Hello rain. I am Valentine. Alexander has told me that Kit is now dating Claude. Good-bye, Rain. Fellow vampire." He was gone in a flash.11

"Fellow vampire? What was he talking about?" I asked aloud. "He was so strange. And Kit! How could she do that to me?" I stood up and walked around the clearing. Finally everything came rushing back to me. I really was a vampire Claude had turned me into one after Alexander told him not to. He had screamed it. I felt like I couldn't remember one more thing.12

Where was Alexander anyways? Did he abandon me, or is he getting help? I walked up to a tree. The branches were thick. A good place to sit and think. I'll have to come back here... I thought to myself. Valentine had talked so quick. He had been a little confusing. Why would Alexander talk to him before he talked to me? Does he even know him? I kept asking questions I couldn't answer.13

"Alexander?!" I screamed. When no one answered again, I gave up. I turned around and noticed Alexander running towards me.14

"Rain!" He yelled. "Thank god you're okay!" When he reached me he grabbed my arms. He looked into my eyes. I looked away and shook him off. 15

"How could you do this to me? You should have told me first, Alexander!" I screamed at him. I still couldn't believe he had told Valentine before me!16

"Rain! Please let me explain!" He pleaded. I looked at him in his beautiful eyes. The eyes I had lost myself in countless times before.17

"I have to go." I mumbled. I got a little louder and said,18

"And just so you know, we're over." I tried to keep the tears in, but one slipped out of my right eye. I wiped it away.19

I went running before he could say anything. I ran as far as I could go then stopped. I stayed there for a while, and decided to go to the good spot to think. I was then in one of the many branches. It was at the very top of the tree. It was at least three stories high. The branch I was on was three feet in width and a foot in depth. I lost myself in thought. I didn't realize someone was creeping up to me.20

"Rain." That was Claude's voice! My eyes flashed open and stared into his. I jumped back about a foot and almost fell. He grabbed my wrist and helped me up.21

"I know what Alexander did to you," Claude began. "Kit and I aren't together anymore, so it was a lie. He knows that. He always did. I would never do that to you. I would treat you like a goddess. Alexander would never praise you like I would. As a matter of fact, he thinks you're worthless. I don't. If you join me, I promise, you will never be treated badly. What do you say, Rain?" Claude held out his left hand and tilted his head to the right. I had no idea what to do. I was clueless.22

"Rain! Don't do it!" Alexander shouted up to me. He must have heard what Claude said. "It's a trick! He's lying to you! Don't listen to him!" I stared down at Alexander. It was a long distance. I stared at Claude's outstretched hand.23

What should I do? I wondered. Claude seemed so certain and sincere. And besides that, it seemed as if he had saved me from dying.24

"Rain, I saved you when you almost died!" Claude pointed out. So he had saved me. I had been right?
