Vampire Kisses- The Beginning

Vampires. Real or fake is the question most people seem to ask. And most people answer the supposedly proven answer. No. But I have seen with my very eyes
that the true answer is yes. In fact, I’m currently dating one! Me a mortal. Well, I suppose I’ll tell you my story. Believe it if you wish. 1

I know this seems kind of weird, but I used to search the cemetery for teen vampires. It took me sixteen years to find my pale prince. When I did, I didn’t exactly know what to do. I suppose I’ll tell you now.2

I walked ever closer to the great mansion. It was rather old. The paint was a little chipped but not bad. It was the color grey, but it was very beautiful. Someone grabbed my shoulders and spun me around. I stared into the passionate, dark blue eyes of a boy. He had medium-length black hair.3

“Who are you?” He demanded. “What are you doing here?” As he spoke, pointed teeth were revealed. I was rather scared but I managed to say,
“Rain Alesandra, and I think you’re the one I’m looking for! He seemed a bit surprised and said, “
You’re not safe here. Follow me.” I did as he said.4

He lead me toward the mansion, which turned out to belong to his family. He lived there alone, though. His whole family was from Romania but he spoke perfect English. He told of how he got here traveling by boat, staying below deck so he would have no sun, and could stay alive.5

As we walked we came near a small pond. I walked along the sand and rocks, and tripped over something. As I tried to regain my balance my foot slipped and I fell in the water. It was surprisingly deep. I climbed back on to sturdy ground. I tried to stand, but fell. Before I touched the ground he caught me.6

“Thanks!” I said out of breath. He just smiled and carried me the rest of the way. His body temperature kept me warm until we finally reached the mansion. I told him me ankle felt better and he set me down. The door was a deep shade of black. The doorknob was also black. 7

We walked into the house. I gasped. The ceilings were blood-red while the walls were painted black. A beautiful crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. The candle’s were all lit and shining brightly down. A spiraling staircase was in the center. The carpet of the floor was black, just like the walls.8

The stairs had red carpeting. He walked towards the stairs so I followed. We went up the stairs all the way to the top. The flooring was dark maple wood. There were many doors. They were all black, while the walls were grey. We went to a door at the very end of the hall. He opened the door and we walked inside. In the room there was one expected piece of furniture. A coffin. It was big enough for three people.
“Wait here. I’ll bring you a chair and some dry clothes.” He was so thoughtful. I walked over to the coffin and saw the magnificent detail. Thorned roses wrapped around the entire thing! They looked so real that I was afraid I would prick my finger while rubbing my fingers across the smooth surface.9

After a second or two, he was back.
“Here are the things I promised. I’ll be in the hall. Tell me when I can come back in.” I smiled and said,
“I will.” I didn’t know what it was about him, besides being a vampire, but I felt a surge of something pulse through my veins when I was near him.10

The clothes he had given me were a plaid skirt, red and black, and an oversized dark purple t-shirt. I looked at my reflection in the window. I looked pretty good. I saw the door open in the reflection and no one was there! I turned around and saw him. He really was a vampire!11

He walked over to me and smiled his entrancing smile. I felt myself smiling back. He was so amazing. He walked over to his closet. He walked back over with many papers. He handed them to me and I saw amazing drawings. One was a little girl about five. She was crying and holding a wound on her arm. Someone was behind her in the shadows.12

I looked through all the other ones. In all of them, the people were hurt or crying or both. I wondered about this but didn’t ask. I came to the last paper. There was nothing on either side.13

“This one’s blank,” I pointed out. He took the paper from my hands and said,
“Why don’t we change that?” He pulled a pencil out of his pocket. It was about two inches long. I sat down and held still. The shrill sound of a pencil scratching against paper filled the room. After about forty minutes. He dropped the pencil.14

He handed the paper to me. I was speechless. It looked exactly like me!
“Wow,” I whispered. He smiled again. I almost fainted this time. Every time he smiled I practically melted! I couldn’t help it. He was so… perfect.15

“I’m afraid it’s getting awfully late. About midnight. I suppose you should be going now,” He said in an odd tone of voice. I stared into his gorgeous eyes and asked,
“Will I see you tomorrow?” He laughed a very wonderful laugh as if he were singing.
“Yes. I promise, Rain.” My heart sang because of the way he said my name.16

As we walked to the cemetery gate I was careful not to trip. As much as I wanted him to hold me, I didn’t want him to think I was clumsy. The longer we walked, the colder it got. I shivered a little and he gave me his coat. I wrapped it around myself close.17

When we finally reached the gate, which was black and iron, I gave him his coat back.
“Goodnight, see you tomorrow!” I felt so amazing. I started walking out the gate. He grabbed my arm and asked,
“Don’t I get to give you a goodnight kiss?” I practically died.18

He cupped my face with his left hand while his soft lips met mine. I felt as though I was the luckiest person. His kiss was sweeter then a lollipop with the rock candy inside. With the moonlight shining down on us, I felt as if I were in a fairytale or a movie. I almost melted in his arms.19

He pulled away and said,
“Goodnight, my sweet.” He smiled and began to walk towards his home. I almost forgot to ask but I did remember to ask him,
“Wait! What’s you’re name?” He turned around and faced me blinking his beautiful eyes.
“I am Alexander!” He disappeared before my eyes. I was so awestruck I stood there for about ten minutes. Once I realize I was lingering, I started the long walk home. I decided to run so I would get in my warm bed quicker.20

The next day was school and I was extremely tired. I decided to tell my mother I was sick so I could rest. She was at work until one. I just had to get home before her so she wouldn’t know I was lying. When I got in my room, black and dark purple paint with dark accessories, I passed out on my bed.21

I woke up the next day to my best friend, Bells, bursting through my door. She was excited and being annoying. I looked at my purple digital clock. Six am! What was Bells doing here this early in the morning?22

“Bella Praline! What are you doing here this early in the morning?” I screamed. She practically burst and screamed,
“No school today!” I got up quickly and looked in the mirror remembering Alexander. I put on my black spandex dress, with black and white striped stockings. I also put on my bat necklace and Hello Batty earrings.23

“Rain,” began Bells. “Who was that hotty you were kissing last night. Ya know. By the cemetery gate?” I started coughing.
“His name is Alexander and I’m visiting him again tonight!” She jokingly pushed me and said
“I always thought you would date someone like Jagger or Danny!” This time I burst out laughing. Bella pushed me again.24

I got up and walked to my window. I was staring at the mansion where Alexander was right now sleeping the day away.
“Hoping prince charming will come to see you?” Bells teased.
“No way! He only comes out at night!”
“What is he? A vampire?” She giggled.
“I think I’ll go see Alexander today,” I decided.
Bells looked surprised and pouted,
“We need some girl time!” I smiled and promised,
“We can totally hang until three!” Bells jumped up and down.25

We decided to go to the mall. Secretly I was glad that time went fast there. Bells got a bright blue and white skirt, a matching shirt and some white shoes to match. I bought a pair of skull earrings and some more black shoes. I also got a small vanilla shake at the Shake Shack. Bells got a strawberry one.26

At about two-thirty we left the mall. We decided to take the shortcut to Bells’ house. Her light-brown hair was so beautiful. Especially with the wind blowing it. I knew she was proud to have such flawless hair. When we reached her house I said goodbye and that I’d see her tomorrow. 27

I ran towards Alexander’s mansion in the cemetery. There was no way I was waiting until nightfall to be with him. Sure I couldn’t see his face until night, but at least I’d be there. I was running as fast as possible so I might have gotten there quicker. It didn’t take very long to get there. When I reached the mansion I slowly opened the door. 28

I was still amazed at how spectacular his home was. I walked up the stairs to the top floor where his room was. I couldn’t wait for the dark to come! I walked down the hall towards Alexander’s room. I opened the door and walked over to the chair he had me sit on the nigh before. It was very dark because of the thick black curtains.29

As I sat on the chair and waited, patiently, I grew very tired. I fell asleep after only a few minutes. I dreamt of the kiss we had shared. Many hours later, once it was dark, I awoke to loud creaking. I saw only pitch-blackness until Alexander opened the curtains. He tied the curtains in place and smiled at me. The moonlight poured through the window.
“Hello, beautiful Rain,” Alexander greeted warmly.
“I’m very happy you are here. I have kind of a strange thing to ask you. You don’t have to do it but…” I laughed.
“What is it?” Again that same feeling as last night returned.
“Would you like a small piece of the vampire world without being turned?” I was shocked. Ever since I was a little girl I had dreamed about becoming one of the undead. I now had an opportunity to see what it was like.30

“Yes,” I said in no more then a whisper. Alexander looked so relieved.
“You should not sleep tonight, but sleep in the day. I have no other coffin so we shall share mine.” I was in love with him. I have to either drop out of school or skip. I suppose I can drop out. I’ve had enough schooling. I thought.31

We walked out of his house and through the cemetery. We talked of whatever came to our mind. His arm was around my waist which made me feel butterfly’s. After a little while we started to walk back to the mansion. It would be daylight soon. Alexander leaned in close and again we kissed.32

We went the rest of the way to his home. When we reached it we went to his room. He pulled the curtains back into place, and the room fell into darkness once more. I looked at my digital watch. Four-thirty am. The sun would be up very soon. We climbed into his coffin. When he closed the top I laid up against him, my head on his chest.33

He hugged me close to him and gently caressed my face, sending chills through my body. I scooted up a little and fingered his silky lips. We talked a little abut what it was like to be mortal. Alexander was very interested in this topic. I wanted to ask what it was like to be a vampire but that would have been foolish. I was learning right now, anyways.
“I love you so much Alexander,” I began to say. “Please say you love me too, and will love me forever.” He was silent a moment and then, maybe crying, said,
“I will always love you, Rain.” I smiled and let out a sigh. I had all I needed. Alexander and I then slept deep and long.34

When night fell Alexander woke me. He pushed open the coffin and we both stepped out. He smiled his mischievous little smile when the curtains were pulled back. He looked so good with the moonlight shining down on him.35

We both went downstairs to the kitchen where Alexander made us some food. We had some red wine with steak, with some greens on the side. We talked some more about random things that came to our mind. It was pretty amazing, having a meal with Alexander. He’s just a guy. Okay a vampire, but a guy. I thought to myself, God he’s so perfect! I couldn’t help but be a little fluttery around him.36

He told me of his cousin, Claude. He was especially quick to talk about this subject. Claude was a blood-thirsty half-vampire. He wanted nothing more than to be full-blood vampire. They were always fighting, and that was the reason why. Claude never changed. Alexander had no idea where Claude was but, was certain he was no longer in Romania.
“Are you sure that he isn’t still in Romania?” I asked.
“Yes, Rain. I am quite certain.” He smiled again.37

We walked outside for a while and visited Alexander’s mother’s grave. Her name was Valencia. Alexander had told me she had been a beautiful woman, and I reminded him of her so much. She had always listened to him speak. Alexander noticed something and ran over to whatever it was. I stayed where I was. 38

He came back with a beautiful violet colored flower. He was also holding something behind his back. I didn’t know if it was another flower or something else. He put the violet on his mother’s grave.
“Rain, close you’re lovely eyes for a moment. I have something for you,” He said mysteriously. I shut my eyes tight and held out a hand. I felt his hand brush against mine and him set something in my hand.39

“Open your eyes!” I could tell he was excited. I opened my eyes rather slowly, and looked at the most exquisite rose in the world.
“It’s so beautiful. So perfect. Just like you.” 40

Alexander leaned in close, and we almost kissed. Right as our lips were about to touch, I pricked my finger on a thorn.
“Ow. Thorn!”
“Here, Rain. Let me help you.” I looked at Alexander and noticed his sharp fangs. They seemed much more like small daggers then usual.41

“No, that’s okay Alexander.”
“Trust me. I’d never-” Before he even finished his sentence, I stuck my finger in my mouth.
He looked at me like I was crazy.
“It’s fine. Really. No need for 9-1-1!” He smiled a little bit.42

“Do you smell that?” Alexander asked.
“Yes. I love the smell of a rainy night in the cemetery.”
“Not that. It’s blood. Fresh blood.”
“How is that possible?”
“Stay here for a moment, Rain.”
“No way! I’m coming with you!”
“It’s to dangerous! “
“Fine.”43

He walked into the tree’s towards the blood. I don’t care what Alexander said. I’m going with him!” I got up and ran the direction Alexander had gone. It was really foggy.
“Alexander? Where are you?” I saw him just standing there. I ran over to him.44

“Alexander, what are you looking at?”
“Rain, you should get out of here. Go back to the mansion. I’ll meet you there.”
“Alright, I’ll come back tomorrow. We can figure out what’s going on here.”
“No, I’d rather you not come back here at all. Not at night anyways.”45

I was surprised. We both began to walk back towards the mansion. I decided no matter what Alexander said, I would check out that place the next night. When we reached his house, and his room, we went to sleep quickly.46

When we woke up again, Alexander and I went walking again. It was going to rain again tonight. I could smell the air very well. Alexander stopped moving for a minute. He then pushed me about four feet. I was about to ask him what the hell he was doing, but he went flying and I screamed instead.47

He hit a tree so hard I screamed again. He looked up and I could tell he was hurt. Then I saw what had hit Alexander. A super hot guy stood where Alexander had been standing. He pulled me up by my hair.
“Ow! Let me go! Let me GO!” The rain started pouring right as he spoke.
“This human? Why are you protecting a stupid human!?” Alexander stood up.
“She is not stupid, Claude! She may be a human but I love her!”48

Claude laughed and yanked my head back.
“Do you love him?” He asked, whispering. I couldn’t say anything. I was too scared.
“Claude!” Alexander yelled. “Please! Put her down and let her go!” I could tell he was very scared for me. He paid no mind to Alexander and said,
“I could just eat you up. In fact…” He opened his mouth showing hi giant fangs. I screamed, shut my eyes, and started to cry.49

I felt a sharp stabbing pain right in the side of my neck. Seconds later all was dark. The last thing I heard was Alexander screaming,
“Rain! No!” What was going to happen to me? Would I die? Would I become a vampire? Nothing made sense anymore. Nothing at all.50

I also put on my bat necklace and Hello Batty earrings.
"Hello Kitty's" evil twin, I presume? Well done! Or should I say, "poorly done..." I figured there would be some vampire stories in this contest...
