Dangerous Game

Part 11

Dangerous game2

"tell somebody what you did!" the voice rang out clearly in his head. Over the years Matt Haley had become used to the insistent voice. He supposed it could be the last vestiges of his conscience that had been eradicated years before in a traumatizing event of his childhood.3

Now he stood over the body of a young female, If it weren't for the blood and other atrocities that had been done, she would be a picture of untamed beauty.4

wrapping the mutilated body in a pale blue tarp he muttered under his breath at the voice, "and what possible service would that be to us?" Hefting the tarp up to the tailgate of his s-10.5

"you cant keep doing this! you need help!" The voice screamed inside of him. Matt had only one simple response to give "why?"
Slamming the tailgate shut he headed toward the cab, taking long slow breathes, enjoying the rush of life when one is taken.6

Changing his clothes in the cab, he put his others in a gallon zip-lock baggy to destroy later. Clutching a T-shirt and stretching it over his slender body, the shirt had the insignia of a life-raft
and the words GH Rescue Mission.7

The Mission, where he was a counselor, was a small re-done church with a few bunk beds and populated by the towns drunks and homeless. It was his job to keep them on track to look for jobs and sober up, and in the morning to lead the bible study.8

Starting the engine and driving onto the main road, He drove a few miles more to a small trail leading off into the woods. At the end of it there was a small shack, old and in shambles. The rust from the tin roof dyed into the rotting wood.9

Flinging open the door He carried the blue bundle in and set it down on a large empty work table. This was the part that Matt dearly loved.
