She looked at me, her eyes glassy. “I don’t think I can…”1

I grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes. “Can what?”2

She bit her lip. I squeezed her hand, but then she pulled it out of my nervous grasp.3

“I can’t see you anymore, Sky,” she said, blinking back tears. She wiped her eye with her left hand, looking down. My heart instantly fell. She’s doing this again.4

There was a moment of silence. She moved her hand to wipe away another tear. I grabbed it, turning it over and kissing her palm. 11

I could hear the cold wind whipping against the frosted window in my small, dimly lit room. She choked slightly, her face growing a bit red, but then she stopped, grabbing hold of herself…13

She leapt forward, her lips crashing against mine, and her arms finding their way around me, holding me as if she’d never want to let go. Keeping one hand holding Kat close to me, my other snaked up her blouse, searching for that hook that has been the bane of so many men. I inwardly smirk, knowing that I was luckier than those men. I, for one, had daily practice unhooking bras with one hand.16

"Kat? You're going to have to move your hands out of my hair if this is ever coming off, you know."17
