Battle Scars (chapter 1) Awakening

I felt my body numb and my sight went black. But then light started to swirl with in it. I felt my body let go of the bed sheets and then feathers started falling. Bats swirled creating this strange swirl. The feathers seemed to float in mid air. I felt sharp pain course through my body. I wanted to scream. But no one heard me when I did. 1

I opened my eyes and saw that my body was floating and everyone seemed to be looking at me.."What?" I looked at them. "Y-y-y-you" I stared at Jackal. "I? I what?" I didn't feel different...Then I saw myself in the body mirror. Wings. One Angel..One Demon. I was no longer human. I wouldn't hold them back. I knew I couldn't now. I wasn't like a human anyways. I always acted like a demon. 2

I sat on the edge of the Grand Canyon. The whole world was burning. And I couldn't do anything. "I love you, Aven." I kept hearing his voice. I missed him so much...But I can't go back. Not like this. 4

I looked at my body. Pitch black with wings bright as fire. My eyes were no longer gray they were red. Blood red. I had no flesh where my tears streamed on my face. The tears had seared them away. Now there was only bone. 5

Everything I touched would die. My nails were full of poison. Everyone that saw me walking called me the poison claw. Due to my nails growing out and the bone from the finger hardened under it...They had become claws. 6

I hated being this way. "I'm sorry Stefan." I whispered his name. I knew he could hear me...Just didn't want to. But...I was wrong. I felt sorrow in my heart. I hadn't felt this way in so long. Then it began to rain. But only where I sat. The rain was warm. "I'm so sorry..." I lied back and reached towards the sky. I closed my eyes and saw him. I saw him reaching for my hand. I wanted to scream his name. I wanted to scream it so loud the world would go def. "Aven..." I heard his voice in my ear like he was right with me. "Stefan?" I opened my eyes and I was back in the mall...When I first met him. I saw my former self and Stefan talking...And laughing. 7

I saw Stefan running back with something in his arms. It was gray with claws and wings. It looked familiar. "ALEX!! STEFAN FOUND HER!" What?!? He found her. That couldn't be her. Theres no way that that thing was Avenge Souls. No way! "NO WAY!" I ran down the stairs. "Aven..." He kept repeating her name. Her cheeks had no flesh down the sides under her eyes. 10
