Misconceptions (Chapter 1) The Struggle

As I walked through the dark and dreadful forest, I thought of all the apparitions that could be following me. I start to walk a little bit faster untill my knees begin to cramp. So I stop to rest on a large oak tree. I look up at the sky and notice that dark clouds are forming. A few minutes later, I hear whispers like voices I had never heard before. As I manage to get up from the tree, piercing rain drops start to fall like daggers digging into my skin. It starts with a shower and then a downpour. I start to run noticing the rain is getting worse and the whispers have become louder. I look up at the sky again and I see a flash of lighting and it came with a sound like glass breaking on wood floors. A couple of seconds later I hear a loud boom of thunder that shakes my spine. I look back at the ground and my balance is thrown off. I run a few feet more and then I trip over a large log and fall face first into a puddle of mudd. "Damn It" I said with anger. After my shocking word I hear the whispers coming closer toward me. But my ankle is sprained. I struggle to get up and I try to limp home. I limp around in circles noticing that I am lost. Scared to my death, I hear a loud scream a few feet back behind me.1

I didn't want to turn around but my instincts told me to.I turn around and a large panther-like animal stands before me only on two legs. I try to hold in my scream by bitting my tongue as hard as i could. This animal and I locked eyes like we were curious about each other. Before I knew it, the animal lifted its powerful paw and scratched me across my cheek. It's claws felt like razors. It had happened so fast,I didn't feel much of the pain.2

By this time, the rain had let up and the sun was beginning to come out from its hide behind the clouds. The animal got back on all four legs and raced away into the bushes. I was so scared I could'nt move. I had thought the whispers came from the animal but they grew even louder and were now surrounding me. It was like they were trying to trap me. 3

I still could'nt move. There was no way I could go anywhere. I turned around in circles and I began to cry. I brushed my cheek to whipe away my tears but the blood from the scratch covered my fingers. I began to feel dizzy and I could'nt see, then everything went blank. I had fainted..............
