Circle of Friends

You and she talk and giggle1

He comes along and now you're in the middle2

Another too, joins the fun3

I watch from afar afraid to approach4

Dinner time's coming, they're ready to run5

Suddenly the subject of me you tentatively broach6

"Come on let's go, we're late," they say without thinking7

Suddenly alone I feel like I'm sinking8

I live as an outcast9

Forgotten and alone10

I'm not allowed with you to have a blast11

The reason I don't fit in is unknown12

With each laugh they make13

And each smile they fake14

It all makes my skin crawl15

Now look what I have done16

Friendly I was, but spiteful I have become.17

I hate them all18

You come to me with apologies on your lips19

You try to include me by telling me their funny stories20

Then you make excuses for those drips21

It's not me you say, but I know it is.22

It's no fault of his23

I am no longer favored24

You've found someone new25

And have become lost in all their glories26

So enjoy your friends, and new experiences savored27

I have been here before I've seen this view28

I'll walk away quietly29

You'll forget I was here30

Only a slight echo in your life31

It'll be easy for you, no strife32

Don't worry about me, it's all so clear33

I'll find others that won't ignore me so completely34

Your friends are waiting, 35

Why don't you go with your wolf pack36

As I turn to go you take my hand37

On them you turn your back 38

and with me form a new band.39

Their words were harsh enough to make us bleed40

You tell me not to worry and ignore their baiting.41

Now my circle of friends is small indeed42

But who needs more than a few43

When your friends are good and true.

    I loved the name of this, and I did very much enjoy this peace! It's so sad, but also more sad tha how TRUE this stuff can be. It gets my brain tinking! lol. Awesome job, and good luck!

    I don't know whats wrong with me today, nothing is flowing right, I couldn't feel the rythym. I mean, there were a few lines that rhymed, and then there would be a really long line, and then 4 lines that all rhymed and then 5 lines that were short then long and not rhyming. I just didn't click for me.

      yeah the line length I used is not even, I know. There is a rhyming scheme there, it's just not a normal one. anyway thanks for reading and commenting.
