Waiting For Love

I want to pull you closer to me,
To share this space and the air we breathe.
I want the softness of your touch,
to dance across my trembling skin,
But you kiss my cheek as you do every morinin'.1

You tell me not to wait up,
but I pace around our bed like a restless pup.
I can't help but miss you.
When tears stream through my dreams,
and my aching heart softly screams.2

Can't you just lay here with me,
I would give up everything.
Just let me hold you a small second longer.
I'm surrounded in empy space,
And my heart no longer recognizes your face.3

Come home to me,
and see me sleeping peacefully.
take off your suit,
Come, lay next to me in this hollow bed,
and on your chest let me lay my weary head. 4

There are some phrases here that I really liked, they were touching and sweet, some however I found odd in the poem, like, "but i pace around our bed like a restless pup" brought a different feel to the poem that i didn't like very much, i would have gone with imagery less having to do with animals, great write though, i enjoyed the beginning.
