Synopsis of “Adventures Unlimited”:3

Post-apocalyptic opening where Benjamin Storm is last man on earth with no escape until finding a door marked Adventures Unlimited where the Caretaker sends him to another world. Storm arrives in a valley protected by an energy barrier that is failing. Men and women of the valley display paranormal powers derived from their auras and have a societal struggle for power. Outside of the barrier, a complex known as the Citadel is trying to break into the barrier to kidnap people for medical experiments. With Storm’s help, the valley inhabitants must overcome internal strife, repair the barrier, and repel the attacking invaders. Unfortunately for them, Storm wants nothing to do with his assigned mission.4

Presentation Style:5

Basic setting is derived from classic 1960’s style science-fiction, however treatment of the subject emphasizes iconoclastic storytelling. Central character, Benjamin Storm, is primarily a catalyst and observer, versus a heroic savior or even a typical anti-hero protagonist. Presentation is third person from perspective of different characters with voices limited depending on character’s knowledge and understanding. Wide cast of characters with detailed histories, development, and warped perspectives. Includes graphic fight scenes with blood and gore, vivid displays of paranormal powers, and detailed technical descriptions of medical experimentation atrocities. Some use of profanity, erotic sexuality, and two rape scenes without being extremely vulgar or pornographic. Mix of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Adventure. Approximately 285,000 words in length. 6

Author’s Bio:7

Robert [LastName] was born and raised in Virginia where he received a Bachelor of Engineering at University of Virginia and a Masters of Education at George Mason University. Robert has almost twenty years of experience as a technical writer, engineering support, and project manager for companies in the fields of aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, and software development. “Adventures Unlimited” is his first complete novel. “I grew up on the classic SciFi, Fantasy, and Adventure fiction of the 1950’s, 60’s, & 70’s, not to mention a substantial dose of Marvel comics. With Adventures Unlimited, I’ve borrowed numerous bits and pieces, then reassembled them into an eclectic vision of worlds gone horribly mad, while still retaining an underlying sense of hope and humanity.” If interested in the manuscript, please reply to [e-mail, phone number, address].8

You have an interesting proposal here that captured our curiosity.

While the concept of the last man has been used several times in novels and movies, we would be open to reviewing what you have created.

Please return this letter and send as a separate attachment the two completed opening chapters and the ending chapter.

blah…blah…You may just get one of these…
