Mirror of Life

Jackson shuddered against the vicious wind of the October evening.  Every day seemed to be the same lately; no matter what she did she couldn’t change it.  She had the same dream every night; she would stare at herself in the mirror and the pale, gaunt face that stared back at her.  A reflection of many nights without much sleep she always splashed water on her face and then left to get dressed. 1

As she walked home, her pink and red Etnies made a soft tapping noise against the concrete, her blue-black hair flew in her face and she brushed it out of the way impatiently.  She walked in her home again and stared at herself in the mirror, her heavy black eyeliner smudged from rubbing them to keep herself awake.  2

She was losing it, there wasn’t much bringing her back from where she was, the sleeping pills her doctor prescribed weren’t working and neither were her anti-depressants.  3

Her parents bickered in the living room and she played loud music to block it out, it all seemed to be going downhill.  She stoped listening to her parents bickering.  One day she just couldn't hear them scream at eachother.4

A tear started to swell in her eyes and she let them fall unchecked.  She was tired of this.  She was tired of everything and nothing.  She wanted sleep.  Sweet slumber from the chaotic reality that she couldn't keep in check.5

Something caught her attention.  She smiled at herself.  She hadn't smiled in such a long time which then forced her to believe that she wasn't smiling at all.  Her reflection smiled at her.  A smile that you know a good thing is not going to happen to you.6

She blamed it on the side effects of the medication.  Her reflection thrust its hands out of the mirror and grabed hold of Jackson's neck and griped with unnatural strength.  Her scream was cut by her chocking for air.  Her parents never heard that scream.  They were too much in their own worlds.7

Jackson's reflection slowly moved out of the mirror while Jackson took steps back to try and break free.  The reflection's smile grew as Jackson's complection changed from white to blue.  Blue to a light purple.8

Jackson closed her eyes and sleeped the sleep that her heart has been aching for.  A sleep away from the dread reality of her life.  The reflection let go of Jackson's neck and let the limp body fall to the ground in a heap.9

No one found her body untill later the next morning.  Her parents were too furious with eachother to care about her.  They both left the house to get awya from eachother.10

It's sad really to know that your parents hate eachother so much that they would stop paying attention to their child.  They were to selfish to realise the damage they were causing to they only daughter.  They both passed blamed toward eachother for her alleged suicide.11
