There wasn't a day he didn't think about her. She was the most important person to him, but she didn't care anymore. She grew up like most people do. He couldn't stand to think that the little sister that once loved him, was slowly beginning to despise him. The most he could do what hope it was just a phase, she was at the age where kids become rebels.
Braxton didn't know why his sister was like this. All the years he tried to make her into a good Christian girl and now she's turned against him. He sat quietly on the family couch, waiting for Christine to get home from school to maybe talk about it with her. He flipped throught the television channels, bored out of his mind. He was thinking about what he'd say. Finally, he heard the front door knob jiggle.
"Christine?" He said, standing up. She walked in the house and looked at him.
"What Braxton?" She said, slipping off her shoes.
"I just wanted to talk.." He said, slipping his hands nervously into his pockets.
"About what Braxton? Everything you say to me about your precious God and Jesus are worthless to me. I really don't care anymore." She replied, dropping her smally green backpack on the floor. There was a long silence after it hit the tiled floor.
"I have to go... I just remembered something I had to do..." He said, quickly heading for the front door. His shoulder bumped Christine's on his way out. Braxton was feeling the tears fill his eyes for the first time in years. He had to get to his car quickly. The windows were tinted enough that no one would be able to see him if he had to break down and cry his heart out. He finally reached the car and grabbed the handle. He stopped for a second to wipe away a tear that had escaped from his baby blue eyes. He lifted the handle up and opened the door, quickly finding the comfort of his seat. Shutting the door behind him, he laid his arms on the steering wheel.
