Knight's shadow

"Here...you come to." A tender voice says as an uncertain hand reaches out to slowly touch the one with the tender voice. 1

"Look out!" A voice screams as a gun goes off pink hair swirls and then falls as another woman with pink hair runs to her. 2

"Miss Meer..Miss Meer." The voice of the second pink haired woman calls. 3

"Meer!" I call out.4

"My voice....my song...never forget them...I'm so glad I got to meet all of you." 5

"Meer!" I shouted sitting up in bed the feeling of bile rising in the pit of my stomach as I brought my hand to my mouth and rushed to the bathroom throwing up what I had, for lunch and dinner earlier on that day. 6

I leaned up a bit shaking tears welling up in my eyes as I leaned against the toilet waiting for the next wave of morning sickness to come. A hand wandered down to the slight swell that was my stomach. Inside a new life grew inside as part of a new experiment to see if males could carry children to full term and not have any side effects. Heh side effects my ass...if it wasn't the morning sickness it was the mood swings, and if it wasn't the mood swings, it was the food aversions. 7

Leaning forward again I sat hunched over the toilet as more of my meal came up. A hand was rubbing my back not long after. I glanced back out of the corner of my eyes seeing dark brown hair and violet eyes. 8

"Kira." I said coughing some as the last bit of my meal came up. Once I was sure it was dry heaves after I flushed the toilet and turned leaning against the toilet frowning. 9

"I heard you scream and came up to see what was wrong." Kira replied as I looked away. 10

"Its nothing...just that dream again." I said breathing some. 11

"And the morning sickness." Kira added as I brought my knees to my chest. 12

"Shove it." I said and stretched out pressing my arm against my stomach feeling a cool cloth against my neck.13

"Your welcome." Kira said as I moved against the tub of my bedroom.14

Why Meer's death was still on my mind I had no idea, but for the past few nights I had been dreaming of her, her death replaying in my head over and over like a plague that would slowly consume me. Maybe something or someone was trying to tell me something. I didn't know what it was, but I wanted these dreams to stop haunting me. I couldn't even look Lacus straight in the eyes because images of Meer would pop into my head. 15

"You three doing ok?" Kira asked putting a hand on my stomach. 16

"Yeah soon as I find something that these two will like and actually let me keep down." I said frowned and coughed leaning forward and brought a hand to my mouth.17

"Athrun." Kira said as I held a finger up breathing some.18

"Its alright." I said frowning.19

Kira slowly helped me up and to my bed as I sat down jumping when a loud voice made itself known.20

"Haro...are you ok?" A pink Haro said as I brought a hand to my chest. 21

"Haro." I said frowning and picked it up looking at it as an image of Meer came into my head and I dropped Haro bringing my hands to my head.22

"Ahh...nnnn." I moaned leaning forward feeling Kira wrap his arms around me. 23

"Its alright Athrun...let it go." Kira said as I twisted my fingers in my hair as tears fell from my eyes. 24

"Meer." I said and cried on Kira's shoulder as he held me.25

The next morning I came downstairs in a pair of jeans and green shirt sliding my arms through my jacket. Kira and Lacus had let me stay with them since I came to the plants...I was born here, and I wanted my twins to be born here as well. While Cagalli handled things back on Earth I took the time to come up here as a sort of extended vacation, and to add to that get a feel for where everything was. I felt like a stranger in my own home. 26

I soon heard voices and pressed myself against the wall frowning some. 27

"Is he still having those dreams?" I heard Lacus say Kira's own voice following not to long after.28

"Yeah he is...they seem to be getting worse though. I just hope he'll be ok." Kira said worried.29

"I do to..." Lacus said. 30

I could practically hear the frown in her voice. That was one thing I didn't want was for them to worry about me. But...they were my friends after all so I suppose they had the right to worry. I didn't want them to though. Once I was sure they were done talking about me and well on another subject I walked into the kitchen.31

"Morning."32

"Good morning Athrun..you want breakfast?" Lacus asked. 33

"Just toast...see if I can hold that down." I said. 34

"Still feel sick from last night?" Kira asked as I poured myself some orange juice and drank a bit of it. 35

"I feel a little better but that doesn't mean I'm not trying to make it look like I don't eat...I'm thin enough as it is." I said bringing a hand to my stomach that was just beginning to show. 36

After breakfast I went out in my normal black sports car waving to Lacus and Kira. "I'll be back later." I said and backed out of the driveway and drove off.
