19-8-08 [Part 2]

Alexis stands up Mike to be with a stranger, Keith. They end up having sex while she is drunk and one month later finds out that she is pregnant and Keith has disappeared without a trace.1

I wasn't surprised to find out that I was pregnant; we hadn't used protection at all despite that it was only for a few minutes every hour. He treated me like a slave that whole time and I didn't try to escape. I regret that to bits now looking back on it. I was his slave for a night. An entire rainy night. My parents were pissed when I came back early the following morning. They were screaming at me, hitting me, but I was far away from their hits and their voices.. What had numbed me was the fact that I had let someone take advantage of me and I didn't do anything about it. I didn't get up, and didn't yell at him to stop and I didn't kick him in his balls. I just let him go with the flow and I enjoyed it. Now look where I am. I'm about to have a baby at seventeen (I was sixteen when I got pregnant and my birthday is in June and that just past so...you do the math).2

I woke up in the hospital, people tell me. Apparently I passed out when I had my baby, a girl I'm going to call Dany, short for Danyelle. She looks more like Keith than me and that's disappointing to me. Hopefully she'll have my talent. And I hope that her new parents are going to take very good care of her.4
