"Alright, Ayame, do you have everything that we're gonna need on the trip?" I asked, packing up my rations,1
"Um i think so..."2
"HEY!!!!" We turned around and saw a young soldier girl running up to us, "Wait wait!! I wanna go with you!!"3
"Who are you?" I asked, eyeing the girl. She was probably a year or two younger than me,4
"Oh yeah, sorry," She said, "I'm Pera Ytacha~"5
"Oh! I know you," Ayame said, "You're that princess who went missing a couple years ago...what are you doing here?"6
"Well, I couldn't stand seeing so many of our troops falling to the wrath of those demons, so I joined up and became one of the Medics in the Rebellion."7
"Are you sure you should come with us?" I asked skeptically, "Maybe you should just wait here and help the troops,"8
"No way!!" She yelled, "I have to go with you! I can't just stand on the sidelines and watch! Besides, what if the other troops in the base that you're going to need help??" I looked at Ayame, and she nodded,9
"Alright kid," I said, "Pack your bags, we head out in half an hour."10

We stood in front of the force-field, gazing out at the dark clouds encircling the base outside of it's protective walls.12
"Girls, are you...positive that you want to do this?" Leonard asked, worried, 13
"Don't worry!" I said, giving him a quick salute with two fingers, "We'll be fine, we've got Pera with us." Pera smiled and I could tell that she was excited to finally get some action.14
"Alright," Leonard continued, "As soon as you get out there, you need to grab your ships and go, got it?"15
"Sir, yes, sir Commissioner!!" We said in unison. We turned, ready to face a near death experience. 16
"Three," Leonard counted down, "Two....one!! Go go go!" We bolted from our spot, phasing right through the purple tinted force-field. Ayame grabbed her hover-board and flew off, just barely escaping the claw of one of the demons. I jumped onto one of the motorbikes, grabbing Pera's arm and swinging her onto the back on the seat behind me,17
"Hold on!" I yelled, puling my goggles on. She held onto my waist and pressed her head against my back. I revved the engine and accelerated at top speed. Ayame flew over us as we raced to meet the other Rebellion forces.18
"Nnn," Pera held on tighter, shutting her eyes tight,19
"You OK?" I asked, dodging a pile of rubble,20
"I-it's just really b-b-bumpy," She said, her words shaken by a thud as the motorbike hit the ground after launching over a small foothill, 21
"AAHH!!!" I slammed my hand down on the break and the bike slid and skidded to a stop,22
"What? What?!?" Pera gasped. She looked up, opening her eyes, and saw five foot-soldier demons with their gun-like blasters pointed at us. I shuddered for a second but soon collected myself. I grabbed Pera and pulled her off the bike, ducking down on one side as the demons fired blasts of dark energy at us.23
"Get down," I said, fumbling around and trying to get my gun out, 24
"No way," Pera persisted, "Like I said, i'm not just gonna stay on the sidelines!" She took out a small vile and a gun. She pushed the vile into the gun and loaded it,25
"What's that?" I asked, baffled, 26
"Just watch," She said sternly. She knelt down, pointing just the tip of her gun over the top of the parked motor bike. Carefully she aimed and shot one of the demons with a blast of shiny blue liquid. The demon fell and dissolved, leaving me shocked,27
"W-what did you do?" I shrieked, "Did you actually KILL that demon? I've never seen anyone actually kill a demon, how did you-?"28
"Holy water." She said, aiming and blasting to more demons. She took her gun down and reloaded it, replacing the tiny vile with another, "I'm a Medic. Holy water is a great healing med," She said, blasting off the last two remaining demons, "But it's also one hell of a demon killer." She stood up and got back on the bike, "Get on," She said, "we have to get to those other troops." I nodded and sat back on the seat.29

"God!" I yelled, swerving the bike. Ayame was fighting demons somewhere else, and we were being chased by what seemed like a never ending supply of air soldiers.31
"I've got this one!" Pera said, "swinging herself around so we were back to back. I hit a pot-hole with the bike, and it knocked the wind out of me. I coughed, straining to drive the bike steadily. Pera loaded her gun, just like she had many times before. She blasted demon after demon, watching them dissolved right into thin air, then I saw it: the light purple-tint of a force-field,32
"There it is!" I yelled, "Hold on for one more second!" Pera muttered a reply, and I revved the engine as fast as it could go. We hit a bump, ramping us into the air. Both the bike and us hit the field, but only the humanss phased through. The bike clattered to the ground outside, and we hit the ground inside.33
"we did it!!" Pera cheered, "We made it!!" Right after, we started loading the ammunition, guns, and food back into a truck that we were to escort back to our base. Pera immediately ran off to the wounded soldiers' tent and began healing them. She dipped her fore-finger into the holy water and marked a small cross on their forehead, healing them almost instantly.34

We were halfway back to base. We'd made it this far because of Pera and her Holy water. Suddenly a demon came out of nowhere in front of us and attacked. I fell back, knocking Pera off with me, and the bike flew into the air before hitting a demolished building and exploding on impact,36
"We're out of Holy water!!" She cried, "We're never gonna make it!" I caught a glimpse of Ayame above my and I grabbed Pera and threw her up. Ayame caught her and pulled her onto the back of the board. I managed to get rid of most of the demons on the ground, and by then we were not more than ten feet away from the Rebellion base.37
I watched as the truck backed up to the force-field as the troops momentarily dropped the force-field to let the truck in, getting it back up before any demons could infiltrate it. I was sure that nothing could go wrong, and-38
"AAhhhh!!!!!" I stopped at the sound of Pera screaming and turned. A demon had rammed itself into the board and had knocked Pera off. She fell fast, but to me it was almost like it was in slow motion. I ran as fast as I could, but my legs felt heavy and weak. I stared in sheer terror as Pera hit the ground, and a sickening crack rippled through the nearly silent air.39

Pera Ytacha had been killed in an accidental death after falling from Ayame's hover-board and landing almost 35 feet below it in a very strong impact. It was because of her that we had received the supplies we needed, and the reason we'll go on and continue fighting in this war. Her bravery will not go un-remembered, and she will remain in our hearts forever.
Author notes
As you can see, Pera was killed off. There was no offense to Pera's original creator (the owner of this contest) intended by doing so.

That's a really interesting way to incorporate Pera. I know we talked about Pera being a secondary character, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that although she wasn't "the" main character, the story was focused on her at the end.
Your spelling and grammar are perfect. One thing I would work on is pacing, which is a really hard skill to master. As it reads now, the story reads really fast, almost like you're watching a fast action movie. It's good to go fast for this story (it is mostly battle scene afterall) but putting in a bit more detail would really spice things up. So slowing it down a bit might be a good idea.
But overall, I enjoyed it. Thanks for entering! -

You've described the action happening in the story very well. It's a good read but I was quite disappointed to see Pera die. She seemed like one of the main characters in the story and the death was quite unexpected. Anyway, I can see its at the beginning stage of a novel and it seems like an exciting story. Keep writing. Thanks for entering the contest and good luck
