The weekend passed for this girl who was known throughout the school as one of the best actresses that have gone through it. But there was also that vibe she got from everyone else - its like they knew. Did they? Anything is possible she thought to herself. Then she was distracted from her thoughts by an obnoxious sound - it was Josh. 1
"So you thought no one would find out?" He questioned, almost teasingly. 2
"I don't know what you're talking about," she said. 3
"Yeah, okay, but remember who you're talking to now. Not many people might know, but by the end of the day you'll be known for more than your acting skills." 4
"Josh, you're so full of yourself, what are you talking about?" she replied, trying to stay calm and strong. 5
"We all know your little secret. You seem so innocent, so sweet, but looks can be deceiving." 6
"Ha, what secret might that be? You've got nothing on me." 7
"I know you're pregnant, and if you don't stop these smart-ass remarks, I will make it my personal goal to let everyone know you are before graduation." 8
"Josh, its my last year, I couldn't care less about what people say," she said, walking off to meet up with her friends. 9
'Who told him? How'd he find out,' she pondered as she walked up towards her group of friends. 10
Chris looked as if he hadn't slept for days. She hugged him and couldn't help but cry. "I'm sorry," she said softly. 11
"Don't be, stuff happens, that doesn't change our friendship, we've been through so much. We're still closer than ever." 12
"I don't want to lose you, I told mom, but she didn't take it too well." 13
"Does the father know?" 14
"Yeah, he called on Friday and I told him." 15
"What'd he have to say?" He questioned her, almost not wanting to hear the answer. 16
"He . . . he . . . he was being a jerk. But I don't need him - I can do this myself. I know I can." 17
"You won't have to do this yourself, I'm here for you." 18
And with that, they walked off towards their class, she still wondering 'how many people know? How do they know?' They walked in and took their seats. 19
"Happy Monday students. As you all know this is the day before your finals begin, and a week from Wednesday is graduation. Please pass forward your senior essays...." The teacher continued to talk but since all of them were seniors in the class they had been through this about five times - semester finals really never change. 20
The day continued with more of the same, teachers talking about finals and graduation. Michelle started thinking to herself, 'I've been so worried about telling everyone this and I'm not even experiencing problems with it, so, it might not be so bad after all.' 21
After lunch, of course, things took a turn for the worse - not her health but the fact that Josh was in that class. He approached her before class and apologized. 22
"Look, I know I've been a jerk and I know life must be pretty hard right now - I have no right to make it harder. I'm sorry." He sounded pretty sincere, so she accepted his apology and left it at that. 23
She noticed that a lot of the football players were looking at her differently so she turned around towards Adam and started talking to him, hoping it'd get them to stop looking at her - she didn't want to make a big deal out of it so, maybe it was her imagination. Plus, she wasn't the first girl 24
to get pregnant in their class, so what's the big deal? 25
Right then she was tapped on her shoulder and she turned around, it was Josh along with a few other guys. Adam stood up about ready to fight when they started laughing. 26
"Look, we know you're going into the Navy, don't get all uptight on us now," one of the guys said. 27
"What's your problem? Up until now you guys never even talked to her let alone approach her all at once, what the heck do you want?" 28
"We just want to talk, is that so wrong?" Josh questioned him. 29
"Well maybe I don't want to talk to you guys," she began to say before Josh interrupted her. 30
"Of course you don't want to talk to us, it's typical for a girl in your condition to be so moody." 31
"Josh, get the hell away from her, she's done nothing wrong" Adam said, about ready to hit him. 32
"Class . . . please, we aren't in third grade here, what's the problem," Her teacher said, and she was almost relieved. 33
"All right, Michelle, Josh and Adam, step outside, the rest of you read through the chapter reviews and answer all the even questions." 34
The three got up and walked outside. 'Oh great, the day before the dang finals and here we are, arguing, I should've never told anyone. My life is so ruined . . .' 35
"What is the problem here?" 36
No one answered. 37
"Hello? I'm not talking to some wall here, you three are probably my brightest students here, someone explain something to me" 38
"Well... here goes nothing," Michelle started to say. "On Friday I found out I was pregnant. Somehow Josh found out and now he's trying to use it against me. But I don't care. It's the week before graduation and I'm not going to be here anymore. I couldn't care less about what people think about me." 39
"Okay, okay, Michelle and Adam, go inside." 40
As they sat inside, five minutes passed, then ten, then fifteen and still the two were outside. 41
"I wonder what he's saying to him," Adam asked. 42
"Who knows? All I know is that this won't be the end of it, Josh won't allow it." 43
"Well, if he starts anything else I know I won't allow it. But, wait till Chris finds out, he'll go insane." 44
"Don't tell Chris, he's already messed up as it is. No use putting more stress on him." 45
Her phone rang and it was Chris, wanting to meet up with her after class. 46
"Is everything all right?" 47
"We need to talk," was all he'd say. 48
'Now things are getting interesting,' she thought to herself, 'I wonder what's going on.'49

I'm loving the Two Weeks Before Graduation series too. You pick the perfect things as cliffhangers.

Still got it going, Malzy. And, still enjoying seeing the story appear and glad you're writing it out. Keep going!
Grampa -
Besides a few gramatical and punctuation problems, this was intense. It had me from the very beginning. I guess I'll have to go back and read the other chapters now
Great work on this and your other little addition

Very Good
This is very well-written, Malz, clearly demonstrating an innate talent for the written word. I did notice just a few editing issues, though nothing at all serious. Just means you need to edit more than once before presenting a piece to the world. You also did another great thing, you ended the chapter in such a way as to urge the reader to move on to the next chapter. This is the mark of a truly gifted storyteller. Usually, we editors have to point this out to writers wanting us to publish their works; that, and revealing that the first chapter/first paragraph should start out with a grab you by the throat scene, which makes the reader want more and more of the story. And, a satisfying ending with all questions answered only makes them wish the story hadn't ended.
Well, done, sweetie! An--nd, congratulations on bringing Kara Lynn into the fold.
Love and hugs, Auntie B♥n

Mal, as always, I love your writes especially this "Two Weeks Before Graudation" series. I think that you've done very well on this series. It seems to flow very well and it just keeps us waiting for more and more! I did find an error, but it's just a minor typo. In the like 21st paragraph type thing, this word 'nad' should be 'and.' Other than that, I think you did very well on this one as well sweetie! Can't wait for more, but take your time!
Congradulations on your new addition as well hun!
Hugs
Mom
