Raven.1
Even the name conjures up ideas that the mind can run rampant with. Images of darkness, and noise, which claw and stick to you. In fact if you take the time to let your mind wander you can even see darker imagery, yet. Blood, for example, or even carrion, and of course death. We could go further, but I think you get the point. I tell you this because I wish you to understand me. Let me explain. The above is a description of the animal in question. It even tells of their behavior to a certain degree. And as it turns out it also describes me in a certain way.2
As I see it you all sit at home safe and secure in your thoughts of protection, warmth, and dare I say it... love. You, even walk the streets with little, or no cares. Yet, you are aware of the potential for danger.3
Me, I watch. You see, you ignore me. I'm the one in the corner, the one you pass on the street and because I dress shabby, or may even be a different race, you shun me. Yet, I see you, even if you choose to forget me.4
I see your little rituals and token moments. You're happy and care free to the average person. However, I know the truth. You go to work and stop at the local shop and flirt with the clerk. It's all in fun you tell yourself and others. I've seen how you nick a piece of pie when no one is looking. Yet, when one is desperate and takes a piece of bread or a coin, then they must be punished for their trespass.5
I've seen it all play out like a play, each one playing out their part exactly as written. When to go to bed, how to kiss your wife and loved ones. Tuck the little one's in, and how to react when your husband, or lover gets amorous. I can recite it all. It's such a grand game you all play. Yet, it gets boring quick.6
No, the only time your honest is when I come knocking. Knocking at your chamber's door. Actually that's not true. I never knock. No, I come in quietly, and sit with you, or lie with you, or what ever will work at the time. I'm your friend. I wont lie to you. Even if you don't want to hear the truth. No, I'll show you who you are. You'll beg me to stop and that you're loved and needed. But in the end it's better if you accept it. I do love you at this time. Your eye's shine as brightly, as a child with a new toy, and we share a moment that no true love can ever share.7
I must confess that I feel truly alive when speaking to you like this. Usually, I don't speak so much. However, I think your special. Perhaps, it's because you haven't begged me, or because your not quite convinced of my intention. Regardless it is time.8
Look at the light, how it dances on the edge. The mirror reflects each moment and it never forgets. I hold the handle and 9
give you time to think and reflect. Then with the skill of a surgeon I relieve your suffering. I drink in every moment and watch. No noise escapes you, yet I hear a noise. Ah, it's only I. 10
I have begun to laugh a low croaking sound. A sound much like that of a raven.11
You've named me well. This is but a mere note to you all that here I sit and watch and feed from the dead. perhaps one day I will visit you as well.12

This was very interesting; not really creepy or scary, but definitely dark. I love the voice of your character- it think you captured that really well. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but the fact that the horror in this was undermined really made everything more twisted and your character appear more psycho, and I thought that was really good. Excellent job.

You can truley tell your inspiration in this piece and who the beauty and the thrill ~ chills are mastered for.
I found this a beautiful, unique piece with blends of horrorific-phycological twists that had me shuddering in my seat.
Well Done
