Many pride themselves on their innocence.1
They like to believe their world is safe.2
But dwelling among you are those who feed on innocence - who draw our strength from your many frailties.3
So begins the first of this collection of short stories about a creature who, since the Creation, has not - will not - not submit to rules made by God or men.4
Do not expect her to be an obvious demon. Do not expect to notice her in a crowd. Do not expect anything at all, except for her to haunt your dreams and hunt her quarry - which she does with exquisite skill and the most fearsome weapons since the birth of Mankind: colour and form... pen and ink.5
These are hunters' tales – subtle stories of the chase – from a genre as old as firelight. 6
Will you join the hunt?7
Or will you, like the Many, become the prey?8

Well, I have to think about this one. While it is not a proper query letter or synopsis, it is a proposal and a very well written one
.
It would certainly grab my interest and that’s what this contest is after.
I’ll ask some of the other writers their opinion or maybe we could designate this as an E-mail query.

I look forward to other peoples' comments, I'm usually of the school that less is more but one CAN overdo it...

Amazing.... I really loved this. Sounded like such a good start to an amazing piece. It left me thirsty for more, to find out what would happen and what it was all about. I particularly liked the line 'Or will you, like the Many, become the prey?'.... spine chilling and such a cliffhanger! I'm sorry it too me so long to get a read to you, in return for your read and comment on 'Brotherly Love', I've had so little time. But I'm glad I read this, it was thrilling. Thanks again for the comment, and such a good piece.
