World War III, Part 2: The United Nations

“A beast is upon Germany!” Hans Weissmann shouted to the United Nations in his heavy German accent. “She is in tatters! Her economy is ruined and it is all thanks to the chains Russia has placed upon her in trade!”1

“Objection,” Sergey Markeev calmly said in his own Russian accent, standing at his desk. “We have not so much as threatened your country, Weissmann.”2

“Is that so?” Weissmann shot back. “Have you not ordered an innocent fleet of the Luftwaffe to be shot down? They held no weapons or equipment and it was made clear via radio that they had no dangerous intent, yet you ordered the lives of these seven promising young men to be cut short in order to be the victims of your game!”3

Markeev chuckled. “Do you not recall an event in which two German jets announced the beginning of a cold war by flying over Beijing, sporting the German flag of war?”4

“That announced nothing officially and that was after the Moscow event!”5

“Then what will announce it?”6

“Not myself, Markeev.”7

Nekkito Yuang stood. “On behalf of the Red Alliance…”8

Uneasy whispers came from around the room.9

“…Russia and China declare war on the European Union.”10

Barry Churchill, one of the blood descendants of Winston Churchill, shoved his chair back and stood. “What has Britain done against China?”11

Armande Merdeaux also stood. “France asks the same question!”12

“It isn’t what you have done,” Markeev said with a smirk as he and Yuang took the floor. “It’s what the Red Alliance is being called to do.”13

He attempted to shove Weissmann off the floor, but the German pushed back.14

“Gentlemen, gentlemen,” Victor Troy of the USA said as he came to separate the two. “The Red Alliance is not being called to do anything. If at all, it is –“15

“We will take what is rightfully ours and establish the Order of the Red Empire!” Markeev shouted, booting Weissmann in the chest. “You, Troy, should understand manifest destiny!”16

“Your destiny is defeat!” Weissman shouted back.17

“Troy,” Yuang hissed, “if you interfere with what is between the Red Alliance and the European Union, I will declare war upon your country.”18

“Leave us to our defenses,” Churchill said, stepping onto the floor to make sure Weissmann was alright after such a blow.19

“It is pointless to risk one more country when it is already three against one,” Merdeaux confirmed, helping Weissmann to his place.20

Troy sighed and headed back to his place. “As much as it pains me to desert my Allies in a war not of their own cause, I respect your wishes. The United States of America will take no part in this war.”21

“We shall see,” Markeev growled as he and Yuang went back to their own seats.22
