lightening cracking open the endless skies.
Tears fall rippling across the red mosaic pool
Clouds are pouring grief in little blue jewels1
2
Without even thinking about it, I'm standing in the rain
letting it soak into my skin and wash everything away.
Little indents decorate the surface of the water as we jump in
even before the sky started pouring, we wanted to swim3
Diving beneath clear drops of slicing rain -raised hands feel the drops
Flashes of light lit up the evening sky and the pouring briefly stops
Silence echoes in our ears as we brace ourselves for thunder
Heads pop into the grieving of the skies, all of us are careful not to be under4
5
My skin is pelted by the storm drops letting out their rage
Wet smiles shine because this freedom can't be lost with age
Wild skies break open in the day and show themselves to our faces
Water moves around my legs as my head feels the storm's wet embraces6
7
Sharp flashes of light, paint the sky with colors normally unseen
Violet illuminates the cloud outlined by lightening yellow green
Floating in the water in the the middle of the storm we know what's at stake
The first person to hear thunder is the starter in the get out of the pool race8
9
Wrapped in a towel now standing on the sidelines staring out the glass
Raindrops paint the pool with designs of art that can't be surpassed
Water stains the windows in lines and shapes I wish were falling on my skin
Staring through the dripping this wild beauty connects to our dreams within
Author notes
This is written off true experiences- we weren't as stupid as this makes us seem- we couldn't hear any thunder at all and the lightening was really far away and the teacher in charge made a judgement call and let us go in knowing that soon as we hear thunder or saw close lightening we had to get ourselves out.
It was amazing and beautiful though, it rained almost everyday we were there and we could see the lightening and rain. (We were also far from the highest thing up) though it wasn't really safe but it is an experiences I don't regret and one that will always be an unforgetable memory. I like this contest btw, soon as I saw it I was like, oh I know what I should do.
I don't know what my favorite song about rain is.Let me think about it I'll think about it in math class tomorrow.

Magnificent!
I have a thing for thunderstorms, so...I don't know. This is especially appealing to me. Your imagery was great, although some of your phrasing kind of ruined the picture at some points.
Still, splendid.
Thank you for entering! -
