Don't Answer The Door - Ch. 7

1

The patrol car parked in front of the old police station. It was odd because this station had a lot of history happen here, haunting history, that they decided to move the station into another building. Had they decided to use this building once again?2

No, it was dark inside and there were no sounds coming from any of the jail cells. Matt walked inside, the police officer grabbing him from behind, not letting go of him. Matt looked around, and felt a chill run down his back. He wondered what they were doing there, why he was there.3

"You have to tell me why I'm here, you know this is my god damn fucking right!" Matt screamed at the officer, after being thrown into the jail cell.4

The police officer stared at Matt who was on the floor. He laughed loudly. Matt sat up and got himself together. 5

"You know why you're here." The officer said, and continued, "You know what you've done. I was sent here to teach you a lesson." 6

"What? What kind of lesson? What did I do?!" Matt screamed, trying to sound innocent.7

"I've received a call that you've been abusing your daughter. You're going to spend a long time in the dirt hole." The officer said. "..Sir." He said, laughing.8

"I have got no respect for you, you selfish no good son of a bitch." The officer continued.9

"Oh, by the way. My name is Officer Carter. Just thought you would like to know." He said, then walked away laughing once more. 10

Matt didn't know how the police knew he hit Eva. He didn't know why they would take him to jail NOW, after years of abuse. Matt realized something and grimaced.11

"Alex. It must be." He said, sure of it that Alex called the cops on him. 12

"Rotten no good piece of..." Matt said, but stopped talking suddenly.13

"Ahhh!" He screamed, and shielded his hands over his eyes. Officer Carter must have turned on the light or something, but this light, it was too bright. Matt took his hands away from his face and opened his eyes. He could see everything, he saw everything he didn't want to see.14

He looked and in the corner he saw the most hideous thing he has ever seen before. 15

"Oh God. What the hell?!" He screamed out loud. 16

"CARTER! What sick joke are you playing?!" He screamed as he unwillingly stared at the rotting skeleton of someone. It was in the corner, and it was sitting there, it's hallow eye wholes staring at Matt. 17

Matt just now smelled it, the rotten smell of death itself. He knew that smell too well. Matt felt sick to himself, as he turned around and threw up on the bed. He didn't mean to, but it just came out of him. He had never smelled it THIS bad before. It was just awful, the stench stinged his nostrils. Matt forced himself to stop, and he looked back, to see the skeleton gone. 18

"What the..." Matt whispered to himself. 19

Fear began to grow inside of him, fear that he hasn't felt for so long. He didn't know what was going on. He heard footsteps, and was relieved when he saw Carter. 20

"Did you see that?! What was that?!" Matt said, eagerly trying to get Carter to listen to him.21

"What was what?" Carter said, genuine confusion appearing on his face. 22

"You mean you didn't see, or smell anything?" Matt said, fear growing in his tone of voice.23

"No.. I didn't see anything. You crazy doof, what the hell is wrong with you?" Carter said, and laughed.24

Matt was beginning to think he was losing his mind. But no, he couldn't be. 25

"This place will surely drive you crazy. Especially when I leave you here through out the long nights, by yourself, in the dark." Carter said, trying to scare Matt, and succeeding.26

"But you can't! NO! Why am I here?! Tell me why am I not in the other police station. Why did you bring me here?"27

Officer Carter stared at Matt, and he was about to reply. His mouth opened, but Matt saw blood coming out. Carter fell to his knees, in front of Matt. He stayed in that position for seconds before dropping in his own pool of blood. 28

"OH GOD! OH GOD!" Matt screamed as he ran back against the wall of his cell.29

Matt looked at Officer Carter and saw a long sword sliced into his back, right into the spine.  It didn't go through his body, it just went in enough to kill Carter instantly. Matt grew terrified, for he didn't know who threw the sword into Carter's back.30

"Why, oh God why?" He screamed as he looked up at the ceiling.31

When he was looking back at Carter, he could have sworn he saw somebody tall walking into the back. Matt recalled something, something terrifying. Tears, hot tears of terror began to stream down his face as the words of the news reporter ran through his head. 32

He remembered them so clearly, "He's 6 foot 7 inches and has murdered over 300 people. He is known for having a taste for human..."33

"Oh dear heavenly Father. Oh God, dear God please no, don't do this to me, no not now please don't do this to me!" Matt pleaded for mercy to God, pleaded for God to save him from this hell that he is being tortured in.34

Matt saw the key to the cell in Carters pocket. He jumped onto his knees and grabbed for them, getting them out of the dead man's pocket, he stood up ready to put the key in the whole when the lights went out.35

Matt heard the sound of something sliding. When he looked down, he couldn't make out a body, even though it was really dark. He was worried, fear still running through him, through out his entire body. He was still crying, his hands shaking so much that he couldn't open the gate, the pitch black darkness didn't help either. 36

This is it, he thought, this is his death. He's going to die here and no one will know where he is, not until the maggots of taken over, eating his eyeballs, running in through his nostrils, sliding down his throat. He started to gag, and again he puked. 37

Again, he was blinded by the damn light. It was so bright when it is turned on so quickly. He was contemplating whether or not he should turn around. He decided to, although he was hesitant. He didn't know what he was going to see. Matt was afraid of dying, he didn't want to die, not now, not like this. When he turned around, he saw the most gruesome thing he'd ever seen.38

Although dead, Carter's body was hung from a noose, the sword was sticking through his skull, from between his eyes. Blood was still gushing out of his mouth and nose, but that wasn't it. The skin on Carter's body was peeled off, it was all gone! Matt saw that Carter's body was cut in half, sliced open, revealing all of his internal organs, all the blood was on the floor, and Matt noticed it was slowly entering his cell. Pretty soon he was going to be stepping in Carter's blood.39

"Oh God!" He screamed, as he noticed something. 40

The body has more organs than that, many more. What happened to the rest? And again, the breaking news alert ran through his mind, once again. 41

"He's 6 foot 7 inches and has murdered over 300 people. He is known for having a taste for human FLESH." But that wasn't all he remembered, oh no, he remembered much more. He started to scream as he realized what happened.42

"...He was feasting on their liver and internal organs..." That's what happened to poor Carter, Matt realized. As he started screaming, no one outside to help him, no one but the bright silver moon in the dark starless sky.43
