There are good times, love. They will come.

I was walking home from school, then, there was a twitch of emotion from inside of me, loss, or was it anger? I decided to ignore it. When I came home, my mother was cooking macaroni and cheese on our stovetop. She was putting down her cell phone, ending a call. 1

"Hi, Ma, when will Dad be home?"2

"Hello," She replied, " I was meaning to talk to you about that, Can we meet outside for a second, I have to talk to you."3

"Okay, Ma." as I stepped outside, that twitch of emotion came 4

back, this time, harder faster stronger. I felt like vomiting. I heard a sob come from Ma.5

"Katelyn, your Father," a pause "Is not, well, your not going to see him for while." 6

"Oh, he's on a bisnuess trip? Okay, well I'm gonna do my homework now...." 7

"Wait!" my Mom said. "Katlyn, what I meant is, your father is, well, dead." My mom started crying. I expect I did too. The next thing I knew, I was on the floor, crying. I felt like my world had been turned upside down. 8

Then Ma said, "There are good times, love, they will come."9
