Chapter One -Tiltle Unknown-

Chapter 11

Forest Night Dream2

Crack!!!3

I ran away from where the shot was fired. The fur of my coat was drenched by the rain. My paws stung and my legs felt heavy and stiff, but I refused to stop running. I looked around wildly looking for a place to hide. Then ran to where I saw a cave a few yards away. I want in and collapsed on the stone ground. The cold wind and rain whipped across me, chilling me to the bone. I whimpered and curled close not even seeing the pairs of eyes watching. Slowly my eyes fell and I drifted into a pain filled sleep.4

~~Dream~~5

It was a bright green day for the pack. I was watching the pups like I was told to do. The little pups pranced around like little groundhogs. Hawk, the brown pup, came over and laid down with me at my side. The other pups laid down with me and were soon asleep. I smelt a scent drift past me and I looked around me, my ears erect. This scent rode the wind across my nose and the scent of Zalnak and the rest of the pack had returned. I barked a happy hello but received nothing in return. Instead I received a growl. I lowered myself to the ground ears back, eyes wide, and tail between my legs. I eas frightened, scared of why they said nothing in return6

“Leera I’m afraid that it is time for you to go. Leave now and we will not harm you. From now on you are nothing more than a Sarcawolf. Do you understand? You have one hour.” After Zarnak said these words they pranced off holding themselves high. I walked into the cave and grabed my two belongings that were in a backpack. So I just took it in my mouth and headed off.7

“Leera,” I turned to see Hawk all teary-eyed.8

“Yes, little pup?” I softly said nuzzling him softly.9

“Are you really leaving?”10

“Yes, little pup. It is my time to go.” I said sadly, almost in tears.11

“Take this when with you and never forget me, Kay.”He placed a brown pouch at my paws then ran off quickly to go play. I placed it in my backpack and headed off.12

I traveled for days becoming hungry and tired.13

“Crack”14

A hunter, he sees me. I ran for cover dashing through vines and fallen logs. Through the water pond and managed to dodge the quicksand. “Crack” A bullet whizzed past my ear and that when I found the cave. Running in I was safe.15

~~Dream End~~16

My eyes shot open. The cave was as black as midnight. I looked out the cave enterance of the mouth and saw it had stopped raining and the scent of the hunter was gone. I had gotten away. I sighed. I was almost caught that time, he would have killed me if I hadn’t gotten away. I was in a bad situation though. I could smell wolves and me being a Sarcawolf, I was not welcome17

“Sarcawolf, what are you doing here?” Said a soft, bright tone. I turned around and saw a lovely black she wolf. Shea was slender and built for speed and agility.18

“I am sorry for pacing into the territory of your pack, I shall leave.” I said with as much respect as a wolf could give.19

“Oh Please, stay for the night. You have had a hard day, so rest.” She said safely gesturing for me to follow her. She lead me through the dark caverns till we came to a candle lit room. It was circular and round. There were furs littering the ground. Seven strong male wolves were in a circle talking and another wolf to the side.20

“Hemy, young sacra, is an Arcanewolf and he is also a visitor. Go, sit next to him.”21

I walked over and sat on the other side of the animal pelt. He looked at me and nodded a welcome then, much to my surprise, he spoke.22

“Young sacra, you may not be so formal to me. I know you’re cold, so come closer. It is warmer over here.23

“I’m fine, thank you. I have thick fur.”24

“I can smell a lie you know, now come over here. You’ll be a lot warmer, I promise.”25

I just curled into a ball and laid down falling asleep quickly.26

(Normal Point Of View)27

The Arcanewolf looked at her and sighed. The girl was small but very attractive. Why would her pack abandon her? She has to have some ability, and if not then she could be a watcher for the pups. The Arcanewolf stood and slinked over to her with a piece of fur. He laid it across her and then went to sleep himself.28

The leader of the pack was watching silently with the rest of the pack.29

“My lady, what do you plan for them?”30

“Young Lark, do you not see it? The legend is being formed right in front of us. Two wolves, a fox, and a humanoid stand up against evil and find the hidden warrior within the hidden cave.”31

“I see, and you wish to push them in their quest?”32

“Exactly. They will help one another now.” Then she growled, “Come on, let’s move out.” She and the wolves left without a sound, leaving the Arcan and Sarcawolf wolfs there to sleep.33

~~Leera’s Dream~~34

I was walking through a swamp, the sludge stuck to my paws and I was soon stuck in the ground. I Struggled hard but could not move at all.35

“Little Sarcawolf what ails you?” Asked a voice from above. I looked up to see a very handsome human/dragon looking creature.36

“I’m stuck and I cannot move.”37

He flew down and pulled me up and out of the sludge. He placed me on the ground softly and landed next to me.38

“What is your name?” I asked softly.39

“Shadok, you may call me shadok.”40

“Shadok, I like it.” I giggled out41

“You should go you know. I don’t want you to get hurt and I want to know how you came into this dimension.” 42

“This dimension?”43

“Yes, this is where my mind has been trapped. It is all fake. Only some can come here. I’m guessing you fell asleep so you had better go.”44

I just nodded and faded out.45

~~Outside Dream~~46

I awoke with a start. Looking around I found no one but the Arcanewolf who was sleeping at my side. It was a weird dream. Who was that man? Was there really a swamp? I sighed and stood up walking around the cave. I saw my bag resting on a rock ledge next to another one. “It must be the Arcanewolf’s pack”47

“You’re up I see, then I guess we should head out.”48

I turned around confused. “Leave where?” I looked at the Arcanewolf.49

“You’re headed off. If you don’t mind, I’m going to travel with you.”50

“I guess I have no choice in the matter, not that I have a choice.”51

They left without a word, their bags hanging from their mouths. I felt safe around him, but why was he being kind, he is more important than I. I was confused, I needed to think but I just followed the Arcanewolf out of the cave and into the Forest of Freedom. It was one of the only places the Dark Lord didn’t have his servants at. I could understand why though. We were protected by a magical barrier, but now we’re leaving it. I didn’t want to but if my pack catches us it could mean trouble. Then a familiar scent passed my nose. My head shot into the air, my nose twitched, I became frightened. My pack was on the hunt and coming our way.52

“We have to run now. My pack is headed this way. They’ll kill us if they catch me.”53

With that we were off, the air slowing our speed. Our legs begun to burn with disuse, the muscles rippled and strained. The wind blew in our eyes making them sting and water. It was getting difficult to run. No matter, we were close to the border of their land, but the pack was catching up. I could hear the snarling of the leader, his growls grew the closer we got to the territory of another pack.54

The Arcanewolf next to me was panting, his growl was getting deeper and I was beginning to wonder if he was alright. We passed through the No-Wolf-Zone and into the opposite territory.55

My pack froze at the edge of the No-Wolf-Zone. “So Leera, you found an Arcanewolf that took pity on you. How pathetic, a real wolf would have a pack by now.” Laughed Zarnok.56

“She will be a great Alpah one day and then you will have to surrender to her.” Growled the Arcanewolf.57

“Her? She’s weak, so weak that she heeds and Arcanewolf for protection. Look at how she cowers before you and I. She is weak, she can’t even babysit a couple of pups. The only one who liked her was Hawk.” Laughed Zarnok58

“Hey who said you could bring Hawk into this, leave Hawk out of this.” I growled59

“You never back-talk me, you insolent whelp.” Yelled Zornok. I lowered myself to the ground and shook in fear.60

Don’t you talk to her like that.” The Arcanewolf lowered his head and nudged me. “Come young Sarcawolf, we should take our leave61

I Stood and we walked off no longer worried about Zarnok.62

“So he was your old pack leader. He seems ruthless to me.”63

“He used to be kind. Something changed him and the pack. Only Haws seemed immune to the packs change. I don’t understand”64

“Well don’t worry, okay. You’re with me now.”65

We continued to walk for a while till we came to a stream. We took a small drink, caught some fish to eat, and then headed further till we heard a thunder clap. We looked to the west where very dark clouds were surfacing.66

“Looks like a storms brewing.”67

“Yeah, looks dangerious.”68

“Come on let’s find some shelter.”69

We raced trying to find some shelter. We finally found a small cold cave, but not before the rain fell. We were soaked. I shook myself off then curled up in a small ball.70

“You okay, Sacrawolf?”71

“Yes, my fur is wet but I’m fine.”72

“Good, get some sleep.”73

I laid my head down and fell asleep.74

~~Dream~~75

I opened my eyes and found myself laying in a meadow my ripped clothes replaced with a beautiful blue silk dress with a black collar and intricate lines stitched on it. Her combat boots were replaced with silk blue slippers. My hair was in two long braids down my back with small blue flowers treaded in. The meadow was very warm and the grass covered with a small dew drops. Everything was so beautiful. The air was unpolluted, there was life all around. It felt so calm here.76

“What are you doing back here young Scarawolf?”77

I turned around and once again came to face with Shadok. He was floating a few feet off the ground.78

“It’s not like I meant to. Every time I fall asleep I come here.”79

“Well I guess you can stay a while.”80

“Thanks.”81

I leaned back and looked up at the sky.82

“It’s got to be fun.”83

“What?”84

“To be able to fly.”85

“It is. Why do you ask.”86

“well I would like to one day. See flying looks so free, so wonderful. The breeze in your hair, the sights, and the feel of freedom.” I laughed. “I sound stupid87

“No you sound passionate.”88

I looked at him and tilted my head confused. He burst out laughing. I tilted my head more and pricked my ears up to hear him better. He fell down beside me his wings spread slightly, still chuckling lightly.89

“What’s so funny.”90

“Nothing.”91

I growled playfully and tackled him. He looked at me surprised. I smiled and began to tickle his sides. He burst into uncontrollable laughter. I tickled him ruthlessly for a bit before releasing him.92

“I haven’t ever had this much fun.”93

“What do you mean Sarcawolf.”94

“Well, all of my life I’ve never played. I was always the runt, the weakling. So soon I became a wanderer. I found a pack, then a few days ago I was shut out and now I travel with an Arcanewolf.”95

“The life of a Sarcawolf is hard, true, but don’t worry, it will turn out for the best. It’s almost dawn. He reached up to his neck and pulled off the black pendent shaped like a dragon’s wings. He then placed it around my neck.96

“Young Sarcawolf take this, may it protect you.” With that I faded away.97

~~Out Of Dream~~98

I woke up, I had long since been in my human form and the Arcanewolf in his. He had short shaggy brown hair and deep colored eyes. I felt a warm sensation on my chest. I looked down and saw the dragon talisman.99

“It wasn’t a dream.”100

“The Arcanewolf looked at me then the pendent. I quickly told him about the dream. He seemed surprised, but with the proof he couldn’t judge. He sighed then claimed we had to go. We continued traveling, our boots crushing the rocks.101

“Hey what’s your name?”102

“My name is Carlous.”103

“I’m Leera.”104

“Such a pretty name”105

I felt my cheeks burning. “Thank you.” I mumbled. He laughed then patted my head.106
