Crimson Lies (intro)

CHAPTER 1 1

"Where are you?..." whispered Aurora as she walked blindly through the pitch dark park. All the street lights had blown and she was alone, or so she had thought. She could feel his presence. Someone was taunting her. 2

Aurora found herself walking faster as she nervously jingled her car keys. "Please let this be the right way..please...I know that I'm not the most devoted christian but God, please.." She closed her eyes and stopped walking as she heard foot steps behind her. Every impulse in her body screamed RUN but it was as though her feet had taken root to the ground. Her heart began to race and every breath shortened with panic. She felt his breath on the back of her neck..Familar and yet new. "Aurora" it whispered in her ear, and then before she could react it was gone, the street lights flickered on, and she was alone with nothing but her shadow to comfort her nerves.3

Had it been him? Was it her brother? Her long lost brother? She had been looking for him since she was twelve years old. Since the day he had went missing. Considering she was now twenty-two and didn't have any hard core evidence she had seriously though about giving up..until tonight. Everyone said he was dead...gone and barried but sometimes she was sure she felt him. She didn't even remember a funeral.4

Aurora remembered nothing about the day Gage had dissapeared...She only remembered waking up and looking for him. She had known something was wrong but all she had found was mother crying histericaly at the front door. She ran outside to see nothing but total darkness. Darkness so dark that she was unable to see her own hand in front of her face. He was gone...he had left her alone...why? 5

Aurora's mother took her own life when Aurora was seventeen. She had known it would happen. After Gage dissapeared the mother in the woman she had always known died. They never spoke of that day..or day her father had left. Something in Aurora had always known that there were things out there no one spoke of. She had always known that there was a world out there that people dare not know existed and she was sure her brother had fallen prey to it. Aurora had always felt something deep inside herself...something dark and powerful. She devoted her entire life to finding him...finding it. Whatever it may be.
