Naughty Impulses (Chapter 9)

*All Alone - Part 1*1

I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping and what sounded like a phone ringing. I lifted my head off the bed and looked beside me. I was surprised to find Alex missing and a note replaced her body. I reached for the note and let out a sigh. 2

Hey Lexa4

I went with my parents to my grandparent shop (the one they owned I told you about a long time ago) to help around the store. Sorry it was un-expectant and I didn’t want to wake you. I miss you loads and had fun last night. (wink...wink) Oh I probably should tell you now, since I’m already at the store and you can’t hurt me. My brother’s home! 5

Good Luck Babysitting!6

Try not to kill him!7

Love sis, Alex. 8

Great, just, great! I glared at the piece of paper hoping Alex could see or at least feel my dread. My stomach growled painfully and I slowly slipped out of warm sheets. I changed into pair of old navy jeans, that had holes in the knees and a dark blue, button up vest. I ran my fingers through my hair and the opened the door. Just as expectant, it was blazing hot outside and the sun was blinding. 10

I made my way into the house and as usual Jake was in the same spot. I began to wonder if he ever moved out of that spot, at all. I walked past him and he didn’t even notice me. I went into the kitchen and dug around for some left over pizza. When I slammed the microwave, Jake finally looked up and I swore he was drooling. 11

“Good morning, pleasant night” I ignored the hint of sarcasm in his voice. “Yes, very” I glared at him for a moment before diving into my warm pizza. “Geez, slow down” Alex’s brother said before turning his attention to the TV.12

I walked over to the couch with my plate and plopped down beside Jake. He didn’t even turn to look at me and I finally looked at what he was watching. Amazingly it wasn’t his usual show but girl wrestling. The fake stuff and I had to shake my head in amusement. I bit down into my pizza and tried to seemed interested, though it was incredible boring. Jake clenched the remote tightly in his hand and I rolled my eyes. 13

“My bet, is on the blonde chic” I said and Jake looked over at me. “You bet” he said rather curious. “With you, yeah cause you’ll loose” the words had a hint of dare to them but otherwise were just goofing around. “Alright, I bet you that last piece of pizza, the brown haired chick wins” he said and I laughed softly. “Alright, that is your side, my side….hmmm, let me see” I went about thinking of the things I needed done. “Laundry” I said triumphant and Jake’s brows scrunched up. “I get to change mine then, strip” he said and I narrowed my eyes. “Dream on” I said and he let out a sigh but he already knew the answer. “How about, you do my laundry then” he said and I shrugged. “Alright, fair enough” I said and then the match began. 14

It made it much more interesting and I had long forgot about my pizza. I laughed softly and Jake’s eyes were gleaming. Enjoying the competition.
