I remember one night... I was 9 years old. I was at Mika's house for one of our ritual sleepovers. We had had our fair share of scary movies that night, so we decided to go outside for a little bit, and it was summer, so we could go out.1
Wait... first I should tell you about Mika and I's relationship. Mika was 3 years older than me, but somehow me managed to stay best-friends since we were 6 years old. We were "joined at the hip", as everyone else used to say. I could tell him anything, and he could tell me anything. But at 9 and 12, we didn't have much to say. 2
I could keep going on, but I have the rest of the story to tell, so I will leave it at, Mika and I were close.3
Now back to the story. Where was I...? Oh yeah...4
After we had put on our shoes, we ran out the door. Each of us called the playground toy we wanted to use. As usual I got the swing, and he got the tire swing next to me. 5
We laughed at each others stories and little kid jokes for a while. Him telling me horror stories about the 7th grade, and me telling him pointless rants about how I hated school. But he always listened, even when what I had to say was stupid and pointless, he listened. That was Mika... always there to lend an ear, or his heart.6
Now, by this time, it was getting dark and the stars were showing. And Mika, being the thoughtful person he was, said, "You know what Becca? I feel really big right now!"7
I gave him a confused look, I had no clue about what he was talking about. But he kept on talking, I kept on listening. 8
"Yeah, I mean, In reality we are all just like stars. Little specks of...well, whatever stars are made up of.9
"I think that when we die," He continued, "I think that we become stars."10
Now this is when I really thought he was crazy. We weren't going to die! Me and Mika were invincible, we would live forever... Didn't he know that?11
I was about to say all of that, but then his mom called us in because it was time to get to bed. 12
While we were running inside, something made a noise behind us, and when Mika looked back, he ran into the old tree we used to climb. After he got up, we ran into the house giggleing. 13
-----------------=-14
Well, it's 5 years later... And I turned out to be wrong. Very wrong in fact. 15
You see, we don't live forever. 16
Mika killed himself a year ago. His home life and people at school turned out to be more than his sweet mind could take. So he took a bullet to the head. 17
I was wrong... we weren't invincible 18
Now every time I look up at the night sky and see the stars, I know. I know that's him. That's what he is now. A little speck of... well.. whatever stars are made up of...19

It is sad that the happy friends of our childhood can stumble into difficult times and find no way out. Because of this memory, and because you have written about it, Mika lives on. You honor him dearly with this tribute.
-
I'm extremely touched by this piece. Its terrible to be young and loose someone. It takes a lot of strength to write it out like this. Keep on writing.
Blessed be,
LeFay -
That is so sad to lose your best friends. My friend just lost his mom 4 days ago and i'm really worried about him and his little sister. It's really hard to replace a friend. Let alone mom. So, can you keep him in your prayers for me. His name is Kyle(if you wanted to know). Thanks

my god, this is a good story. i began to think about my friendships, and i dont know how i could handle losing one of my three closest friends. and the worst thing is, they can sometimes be suicidal, yet we try help one another and i guess that helps. suicide isnt the best thing, i know because of my father who did that. anyways, im getting too personal here. this was a great write. and keep it up. stay strong.

This shows the way kids think very well. It's always that they will live forever. It's heartbreaking that many of them don't.
This is very well done. The only thing I can suggest at this point is to maybe make it a bit longer if you can. -
Oh my god! I am so sorry for your loss. I thought I was going to cry! You did a great job of telling your past. Such a sad thing...
-
i'm sorry ur friend died in such a horrible way.
this is really touching and a nice way to look at things.
i think you handled it really sensitively but maybe it is a little bit cliched like ack 1013 said. -
That was really beautiful! Is it a true story? If so im so sorry you had to face that. It's so sad that, that's the reality of life. Either way it was an excellent story, keep up the good work!

My mom used to tell me that when we die we would be up with the stars shinning down on all those we love and loved. This is a good write. I needed tissues at the end, but I am a very emotionally high strung person! Thank you for sharing your memory you had, I enjoyed reading it and it was VERY VERY good!
-
Thank you so much for the comment. ::hands you some tissues:: thanks again for reading!

incredible
Oh my gosh! That was great, really great. Make me want to cry like a baby great. lol And for me that's saying a lot, I usually don't cry over movies, stories, poems and such. Tears welled up in my eyes, so this was incredible. Great job and keep it up!
Best wishes,
Amanda -
so beautifually written

First I compliment your ability of narrative, especially in the dash marks. I understand what you are trying to do with the section afterwords but honestly it seems a little cliched, even though it is honest, perhaps there is a better way to relate it.
I am sorry to hear your friend died this way. Suicide is a horrible thing. -
this is a really good story. i like the way of thinking that we could become stars once we die. i think that is a cool way of thinking of it. awesome job though on this. it was sad but really good. keep up the great job!
-
This is a good story
-
Perhaps if we die, we do become stars. ^-^ I really like death being put into that way. That when we die that we are remembered by what we see everynight above in the heavens.
This is really sad, but yet bittersweet. I don't know really why.
If this is your first story, then you did a beautiful job.

oops
One minor thing I forgot to mention, you misspelled Invincible in the title.
Just thought I'd let you know.
Also if you want some minor pointers on your story let me know, I didn't want to waste space on your page with nitty gritty little things. Especially since I liked this so much

Awesome!
Wow- that was really powerful and extremely well written! You have definitely impressed me. I'll be coming back to see more of you. This was really good, the last line though was brilliant. lol, I must sound like a raving idiot by now but the whole piece was excellent. Loved it. Keep it up and you will get somewhere!

oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I know it doesn't always seem like it but everything happens for a reason-eventually. Its so horrible how that much pressure can be put on such a young person. Plus his friends and family. This was beautiful. I'm sorry for your loss but at least writing is a helpful way to get out your emotions. much love Dawn
-
Oh my god. This was so beautiful...You are a very talented person, you know that?
"Me and Mika were invincible, we would live forever"
That was a good line...
I loved this story very much, and I'm truely sorry about all of the losses you've suffered.
