A Drabble

It is the obnoxious scream of the vacuum that drags me from slumber. Through half-closed, sleep crusted eyes, I see it is 2:30 in the morning. 1

I wonder, if someone has decided to finally break into my house to steal the only thing of real value I own; the piano. Upon entering the house, the thief, so disgusted by my littered dining room floor, decided to take it upon himself to vacuum for me. 2

That makes me smile, and I roll over to go back to sleep; unconcerned about who’s running the machine, only grateful that it’s finally getting done.3
