Dead Acting1

His name was Hendrew Livingston. Raised by his mother and father on a farm in New Jersey. Hendrew was always a gifted child, having that magic and spark that not many youngsters had his age.Hendrew moved to LA in his early 20s to discover new adventures for acting. His grandparents also had a thirst for acting, appearing in many old western films. Money was never on their agenda, they did it for pure pleasure.3
Settling into LA his fame slowly began climbing. Starring in weak roles only made him more determined to make it big. His apartment small but chic to his liking, layed embedded on the coastal front with the Hollywood hills for a picturesque view.4
So there I was, sinking into my routine like I did everyday. Waking up, reading the paper, checking my weekly slots and entertainment news at my London flat in Soho. Journalism was never on my mind when leaving school, getting a car and travelling was more my fix. Reading the job advertisement in the paper for a film critic was certainly somewhat different but at least it would pay the rent. The coloum was for movie reviews at a big newspaper, it brought it in the money depending on how well it got ranked.5
It wasn't until summer last year that word had got around about a good hearted actor from New Jersey. He was beginning to show in small roles but critics were falling at his feet. I had to do my research, and was beginning to know what the critic population was more females than males.Yes he was good looking and had the characteristics that just melted in your mouth, but if i was to pay this month's rent then my review would have to be tasteful but not something that could tip the scales.6
My glasses perched at the end of my nose, pen i one hand and glass of wine in the other i pressed play on the remote. Well how else can one get to know this actor than to watch him.
By the end of the film, the paper was filled with short hand and notes. It had an even balance of ying and yang. I've known some critics in my time that have ripped actors to shreds. I'm not that harsh but to give actors fair comments i rate them on being believable, being real and not seen as some wanna be pretending to be like their idol.7
Handing in my final written article to my editor, i felt satisfied as did he. He even quoted on how it was going to make an appearance in the copy of tomorrow paper.
With a strong coffee in one hand and the paper in the other i whisked to the entertainment section. In bold print was my review. Smiling at the quirky comments I wondered whether Hendrew would see the reviews and what would he think.
