100 Acres of October Ch. I

When I say the word “vampire,” you think of the gorgeous, yet deadly, blood thirsty creature of the night, correct? Or, thanks to Stephenie Meyer, do you think of normal, but flawless human beings who glitter in the sun? Well here, you’re getting neither.
You’ll be receiving Draven Blackwood, a one year old vampire in modern-day Utah. He’ll be living life just as any other high school student would, only with a grudge, dead parents, blood lust, and let’s-play-pretend-puberty. 1

"All right, class! Take out your notbooks and copy what I have written on the board."
A moan came from the class and then a ruffling of papers as the students did as told. In the front, Whatserface put her smile on and cheerfully began sucking up to whoever it was instructing them to do whatever and blah blah blah. To the side, the "troubled" kids, as the adults seemed to love to call them, were snorting cocaine off their desks and laughing their asses off at God knows what. Meanwhile, Draven Blackwood sat in the back, all six senses going insane from the smell of drugs and the sound of complaint. A downfall of true vampirism is the heightened awareness of... Everything.
Draven sat back in his chair and sighed.
It's impossible to block all this god damned noise out!!! It even hurt to think. 3

Disadvantage one: Over active senses. 4

He sensed someone looking at him and glanced around the room in curiosity. A random girl whose name was... Fuck, it doesn't matter, was staring at him with wide eyes.
"What?" Draven said in a quiet, monotonous voice. Even though he simply whispered the word, his voice carried all the way to the other side of the class. 5

Advantage one: Enhanced ability of communication.6

Draven knew no one in this school. As an orphaned run away from Montana, you become shy in any type of environment, no matter who you're with and if you know every soul in the room. You don't want any one to know your story, know your problems, know... You're a vampire.
One year and counting and totally inexperienced! Who wouldn't be terrified. Let's do the math - Teenage boy + Troubles + Orphaned + Blood lust = One moody son of a bitch. Draven was afraid of himself.7

Author notes

Not done yet, but I'm sleepy and I promised myself I would get SOMETHING posted tonight before I went to sleep. Yes yes, it's 5:55 AM and I said tonight? I'm on the vamp schedule. Deal with me.

Should I continue? It's my first story.
