I'm so tired of people whining and complaining about how much they hate life. It gets on my nerves. I try to tolerate as much as I can, but it bugs me when people contstantly whine about how much they hate their life. I;m sick and tired of those who say life sucks and always look for the negative aspects.1
I'm a strong believer in the human mind. If you think your life sucks, then yeah, it's going to suck. Life is what you make it. I know that's the name of a Hannah Montana song, but the song is pretty true. If you try, you can find something good in any situation, no matter how bad it looks.2
There're people who have fared so much worse than some people who whine, but, instead of complaining, they take it and do something amazing. David Peltzer, author of A Child Called It and other books, grew up abused. He had it a lot worse than some of the complainers I know. Instead of whining about something out of his control, he did something with his life. Yes, he had a bad childhood. But when he got older, he wrote books. He took a bad situation, hung on, and managed to tell the world about what he endured- in a good way.3
Seeing people do amazing things like that makes my tolerance level for emos nearly non existant. I hate it when people whine and complain about their lives when they have almost nothing to complain about. I don't like to hear them say they hate life. It's stupid and unnecessary. I guess I just believe that life can get better if you try. If you start focusing on the good instead of the bad, life will eventually improve. Whining only makes you more miserable. It's sad, though, that people can get that unhappy. Life is an amazing thing. You get once chance, so why not make it last?4
Whining gets you nowhere and it accomplishes nothing. If you hate life, do something about it. I don't mean suicide (that's the stupidest, most selfish thing anyone can do), but do something. Try writing or singing or dancing or something. Something that will ease your pain and something that will brighten your mood a little. Find an outlet. 5
If you're so miserable that you hate life, shut up and do something about it. Most people don't want to hear about how much you hate life. In fact, in many cases, it makes people want to stay away from you. I know with me and several of my friends, whining merely bugs us. Sure it's good to listen every once in a while, but constant misery is boring and unattractive. Most people don't want to be around a guy/girl who's that unhappy.6
Don't take your misery out on us and don't take it out on yourself, either. Cutting/self-harm/suidice solves nothing. It's dumb and it doesn't ease the pain. That kind of stuff merely substitutes the pain- physical pain instead of mental. And getting pissed at other people doesn't solve anything either. Taking your unhappiness out on someone else just makes you annoying. Most people don't want to hang around with a downer.7
I'm sorry if my opinion offends you, but it's the way I think. I've been through my share of issues and I refuse to let any of it bring me down. I personally want to live my life to the fullest. We get once chance to live and so I'm going to live it with a smile.

Now, I reread this and I understand what you're trying to say. But everyone's life-style is different. You can't just say, "cutting yourself is stupid." It relieves some pain. Whether or not people do it, it is their decision and you must accept it. but being in their shoes really does change everything.
What if you were beat everyday in your childhood? Neglected? Abused? My life was like that, but now, I reflect upon that as a path I chose to take. It's just part of growing up.
But regardless, I still like this rant. Keep up the good work and I wish you good luck in my contest yet again. =3 -
Meh
Ok yer great whatever... obviously you are an optimist, well you know what? optimists BUG ME... I mean c'mon how can you be optimistic when there is so much wrong in the world? Starving kids in Africa, bombs in Iraq, Global Warming how can you be optimistic when such things exist in this world??? -

What's the point in being miserable all the time? There're things you can't control so why be miserable. Do your best to help, but do enjoy life. What's the point of living if you're never happy? I prefer to look at what's goood in life. I love life because I can find good in any situation.

There is no point to living if your never happy... thats why suicide was invented

Hm.
I liked this rant about Life, somewhat. It is somewhat repetitive.
But AFS Rocker does have a point. If you put yourself in their situation to see how bad their lives are, you can't really blame them for cutting themselves. That's just how life is.
Good luck! :3 -
Okay Missy, you know what? I understand that you are an opptomist and tend to look on the brighter side of things. I respect that, but shit like this really pisses me off. I'm pretty sure you wrote this after our quarl. I didn't invite you into my own rant, and I didn't appreciate you evaluating my life for me. I get that people that are always upset can be annoying, but guess what? Sometimes there is nothing we can do about it. I don't appreciate you saying that things can change if you really want them to. You think I like being the way that I am? You think I enjoy being upset all the time over stupid shit or no shit at all? Yes, I admit that I did do something to help with the situation, but it doesn't seem to be doing much good. I'm sorry if the fact that the way I approach my life isn't ideal to you, but you don't have to go and say that it's stupid or annoying or whatever.
I know you've been through shit, I've been your friend for over five years. But seriously, does any of it compare to what I've gone through? Did your parents split up when you were four? Did you lose too many friends and loved ones to count? Have you ever had someone make you feel so shitty about yourself that you just don't see the point anymore? I'd be willing to bet that the answers you would give me would mostly be no's.
Like I said before, I am perfectly aware that there are people out there that have things way worse off than me or anyone else I know. Most people know that fact. But you know what? It still doesn't change the living situation they have for themselves. People could have the best life out of anyone around them, but they can still be utterly depressed for no reason what-so-ever. It just happens. And for another thing, it's not always something you can control. That's why depression is also labeled as an illness.
So thanks for sharing your opinion, but before you go judging how other people are acting, maybe you should walk a day in their life. See how much you like it. -
Wow you're totally right, I hate it when people complain about their lives when they have it so good. (read the Child Called It btw) Very good books and you're right about him. I know where you're coming from I had a friend who was always a pessimist and a definte downer. She wasn't a very enjoyable person to be around.
Good job and Good Luck in the contest
