My God of Death, Chapter three (Unfinished)

Ethan looked out the window, eyes widening slightly.1

"How many are there?"2

"A hundred or so..."3

"Oh," I said, slightly surprised, "That should be relatively easy then." I threw Ethan a gun, who caught it with ease. He looked at me, eyes questioning.4

"You concentrate on the men near Katana, I'll be fine."5

"But Paine-"6

"I said I would be fine, Ethan." I repeated, then looked at Katana. "We ready?"7

"Ish."8

"Ish?"9

"I get nervous when I'm about to do something stupid." She said. I rolled me eyes. Are you serious? Anyways, she grabbed two daggers. I looked at Ethan who gave me that 'this is going to be a loooooong night' look.10

"....Let's go..." Ethan said, chuckling a little.11

"Your going to the rooftop, right?"12

"Yeah, give me a minute though." He said, composing himself. He started walking up the stairs to the roof. I Walked to the window and climbed out of it, Katana following me. 13

"Emergency fire escape?" She whispered. I shrugged.14

"You can, I'm going to take a more...unconventional route." I said climbing onto the railing. She looked at me, slightly confused.15

"Then how are you going to-" I cut her off by shifting my weight to my back, making me fall off the railing.I turned and flipped over, landing perfectly on my feet. Pulling out a knife I began to slaughter the oncoming horde of agents. I glanced over at the fire escape, seeing Katana jumping off. I pulled out a pistol, shooting one of my offenders between the eyes while another grabbed my leg. I pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the temple, then pulled out the knife, now slick with blood, and kicked him off. I glanced at Katana again, noticing her trouble with the whole killing them and moving on part. I began shooting the agents that were getting too close to Katana (which honestly, I wouldn't have to do if my damned boyfriend was doing his job). 16

I was doing a good job too, if I do say so myself.17

Click. I heard the soft sound of a revolver's safety being moved off.18

Okay, maybe not so much now.19

"You come with us, Miss Catherine, or we will force."20

"What bout a third option? Why isn't that ever an option anymore?" I groaned, bracing myself for another near death experience. That is, until a super hot bullet grazed my face and chunked his head into little bitty bits. I looked to the roof and saw Ethan grinning in satisfaction. I nodded in appreciation, and Ethan did the same. After that little episode, we both continued on with our appointed jobs; Ethan putting small but meaningful holes in peoples heads, and I with the job of ruining Ethan's leather pants with blood and guts.21

I smiled to myself slightly, then continued my onslaught by shooting a woman in the chest. Great, they're not sexist anymore when it came to field agents. 22

Ethan's P.o.V23

I really hate it when she does this, makes me stay up here while she goes and nearly kills herself. She really doesn't understand the fact that just because she's a hybrid doesn't also mean she's invincible. 24

Paine's P.o.V25

As we whittled them down slowly, I became angry. Why did they want me? I was a slave who escaped four years ago. I'm just a hybrid, nothing special really. As the last man was shot I grabbed another aside, throwing and pinning him to the ground.26

"What do you want with me?!" I demanded, my patience ran dry hours ago. 27

"Your master sent us!" He cried out, "He told us to bring you back or die trying!"28

"The latter of the two is, unfortunately for you, the only solution to the current situation." I said coldly, slitting his throat. He stared at me in shock as his blood flowed between my fingers. He started to convulse violently, then abruptly stopping. I stood up dusting my hand off on my shirt, glancing at Katana, who was staring at me with shock and disgust. 29

"Wh....What did he mean, your master wanted you back?" She asked quietly, staring at the man's still bleeding corpse.30

"He meant what he said," I said, groaning in pain slightly. Ethan looked at me, eyes wide with surprise. 31

"So....you're not free?"32

"Suppose I'm not....well, not technically. It's not my fault that all the guards were mysteriously knocked out, or that the door just HAPPENED to be opened forcefully." I said, shrugging a bit, making a very serious situation seem light hearted and meaningless conversation. Ethan shook his head at me, and I frowned, tensing in pain. Shit. Not again. "Will you excuse me for a moment?" I said, going into a back alley, feeling severely sick to my stomach. 33
