A simple wish

A star soared through the sky. The little girl marveled at it. Then, she bowed her head and made a wish. The wish was a simple one.1

To get a beautiful flower.2

The girl scamperd off to where the woods were. Where was her brother? She looked around. A bit cold and scared. Suddenly, a boy popped out before her. It wasn't her brother...3

"I'm Joey." 4

The girl stared, unknowing what to do. She wanted to ask him about her brother. But...the boy could be a big, bad, wolf. Like in The Three Little Pigs. Maybe he ate her brother.....5

"Can you speakie?" He asked.6

She shook her head. The boy took her hand. It was warm, smooth, not hairy like a wolf's. She let him lead her deeper into the woods. They soon came near a small river. The boy ran off, and soon came back.7

"I saw a boy, is he your brudder?"8

She nodded.9

The boy gave her something. A pretty, purple flower. Her favorite color. Then he hugged her. The young girl didn't want him to let her go. She liked his warmth, his pressence.10

"You can go to him."11

The girl took a few steps, then looked back at him. She took a deep breath. Then another. Finnaly, she said,12

"Thank you."13

In the moring, she felt strange, sad. Wanted to see him again. At the moment, she didn't know that she liked him. She told her parents about him. Asked them if thay knew him.14

They said there was no boy living in the woods.15
