Never Be Two Again

I wake up as the warm sun eases its way past the horizon, just to watch her laying there in bed next me. With just a simple white sheet covering her, she's so much more than beautiful. I slowly slip out of the bed, trying to unwrap her arm from around me without waking her up. I shower and change into a bikini, tie a blue wrap around my waist, grab a white tank top and then lay back down next to her for a minute or two. I'm split between knowing I have to wake her up, and wanting to leave to sleep in the bed while I watch her. I shake my head at myself and kiss her face until she groans. She walks to the bathroom, half awake and I hear the water turn on. She showers and comes back out- a black bikini top and yellow loose, baggy swimming trunks. I laugh; she's so cute. I sit down on the couch as she finishes getting ready, and I watch her quietly, unnoticed. When she's done, she comes over to me and rests on her knees. She looks up at me with those big brown eyes that I've fallen into, that always look at me with such affection. She pulls me to the edge of my seat and wraps her arms around my stomach, resting her head on me. My arms slip around her neck and I can feel a sigh escape her. We sit in silence for a little bit, just holding on to one another. She brushes a strand of my hair out of my face, and then cups my face with one hand. I can feel my heart melting right there. I know that this is only the beginning and I smile at her. Her eyes search mine for something, but I don't know what. She asks me if today is real and I can't help but laugh. "Yes, it's finally real baby." Today, is the day.1

We finally get to the spot. The water flowing from the waterfall is gorgeous; the whole beach is gorgeous. The water is almost clear, but it has a perfect tint of blue. The sand is just gold, and I can feel my heart pounding out of my chest as I take it all in. I sneak a look over at her, as her eyes scan everything. I get scared that she won't like it, and then as if she knows what I'm thinking, she squeezes my hand hard, and kisses my cheek. She tells me it's beautiful and pulls me towards the waterfall. In a little cave behind the waterfall the two of us stand, hand in hand. She stares at me, and doesn't look away this time. The light pours in behind her and I can't breath because she looks so beautiful it hurts. We say I do, and my heart breaks. I kiss her on the lips and suddenly it's all real. Today, is the day.2

We lay down in the warm sand now, and I hold her close to me. She smiles a lot and plays with my wedding ring. Then she looks at hers. I kiss her forehead as she slowly falls asleep- safe in my arms. She lays there asleep and I just look at her and I can't believe its all real. Today we got married. Today she became mine. She rolls over a little and is now laying on me. I laugh and roll her off me a little but she's still in my arms. I'll never let her go. I kiss her temple and whisper in her ear:3

"I love you. I've always loved you, and I always will love you. Everyday of your life may not be as happy and wonderful as today, but I promise you, everyday for the rest of our lives, I will love you as much as I love you now and more.." 4

I can feel her smile and she nuzzles her nose into my neck. I giggle and try to push her away, but she pulls me back in. I squeal as she rolls me on my back and covers my face in kisses. My heart keeps aching with love for her as we roll around in the sand; flirting and being in love. This is the day I've looked forward to for so long and it's nothing like what I thought it would be. It's a thousand times better. It feels like we're right out of a love story as she crawls back in my arms. The orange sun setting sun reflects onto the water- leaving the most beautiful landscape. It's rays gently cover her bare skin, and I don't know what's more breath-taking: the scene, or her. Our legs tangle together and I swear that she has to be the most amazing person I know. She is perfect for me and our hearts match completely. I could never be without her. And as we both drift back to sleep to the setting sun over the beach, our love is like a blanket- covering our locked bodies. She's so close to me now that our hearts beat as one..And they never become two again.5
