The scout Cougra had sent to find the two travellers came back with some not-so-pleasant news.1
"She spotted me. It was only for a split second, but she saw me. D***, I told you that girl was good!"2
"I know she's good!" Cougra snapped. "That's why I sent you! You're the best. Apparently my faith has been misplaced." The cat-woman glared into his eyes. "You failed me, Carron."3
He lowered his head in shame. "I know I failed, Mistress Cougra. My reputation is at stake, I'll do better next time."4
"Let's hope that you do. If you fail again, my master will be greatly displeased, no matter how well you've done in the past."5
"Yes Mistress."6
Cougra smiled, ever so slightly. "I'm still counting on you, Carron." She nodded at the door. "You may go."7
Carron bowed and left Cougra alone to sort through her thoughts.
