Rhys' Story: Chapter 1

Introduction1

The tiger crept through the Hidden Hills, as a fairy flew over-head, the tiger was grateful to the fairy, as its glowing wings lit the way to the cavern. Isis was waiting there for him, she wasn’t the god Isis from Ancient Egypt, and she wasn’t the hero from the tigers little brothers dreams, she was just Isis, and he was happy about that.2

“Tigris! Where were you, brother was worried!” Isis screamed, hugging him. Osiris was her older brother, and he was also responsible for Tigris, and Isis.3

Tigris sat down in a calm, collected way, and almost, just almost smiled.4

Rhys sat up in his bed, and stared into the Welsh night, his eyes suddenly wide, and his pupils wider. He was very surprised at what he had just experienced, and almost expected it to come true. He walked up to the window in his boxer shorts, and looked from his second-storey bedroom, down to the divine rose garden below. He peered deep into the blackness, and just made out the Irish Channel, from his terrace house in Tywyn, Wales. 6

“It was just a dream, I know that, but it was so real, so true.” He said, crying with joy.7

Rhys went back to his bed, let the blanket hug him to sleep, like his mother once did, before IT happened, “I can’t think about it, or I’ll never get to sleep!” Rhys hissed to himself, as his mind sung his mothers lullaby in her sweet singing voice, ‘The night is here, calm down my dear, and smile, Dreamland is near, and say, “I am a tired head, and it’s time for bed” but keep on smiling.’8

At that, Rhys fell into an anxious sleep. He had a dream again, but a much, much more chaotic one.9

Isis stared through the stranger at the door, his story was a lie, and she knew that.10

“I was walking through the hills, looking for my elf-brother, Lozano. We had lost each other by Tal-y-Llyn, and we I were so shocked!” He exclaimed, almost panting for breath.11

“All you want is a bed, right?” Isis smiled, she didn’t sense evil about him, she sensed nervousness.12

“Yes.” He said simply.13

“Lozano!” Isis said, mimicking the handsome elves voice.14

“Yes brother?” Lozano said, stepping out from the nearby rose bush.15

“I knew it was a dare.” Isis smiled. At the noise Tigris jumped over Isis in front of her, attempting to defend her against the strange, aqua-skinned strangers.16

Rhys woke up a minute after Tigris jumped out at the elves. He pushed the duvet from his body, and he sat up, staring at the room around him. The walls were a brilliant maroon, just like Isis’ magical and powerful dress, his bed was a double bed, his mum slept next to him when he had a nightmare; “Mum” he was tearing up. He stared towards the white ceiling, with the red light hanging down from there, it looked remarkably like the blood he saw in the kitchen when his mother was murdered, dripping from the hole in the ceiling.17

He went up to his little brother’s bedroom and went to sleep with him. 18
