I walked over and sat on the couch beside Jimmy. Annabelle sat up where she was on the floor, still smiling at me.1

I cleared my throat and said, "Not to be rude, but who are you?" Annabelle looked at me and then to Jimmy. Jimmy looked really nervous for some reason. "Jimmothy, is there something you're not telling me?" I asked quickly.2

"Well, uh," he began as he looked everywhere except at me. "remember how I told you I was dead?" 3

I giggled lightly. "Sure."4

Jimmy turned towards me and the impact of his cat-like green eyes and pale skin astounded me. He took my hand in his and I noticed the he was ice cold. "I am," he said quietly.5

I looked up at my best friend confused, I said, "You are what? You're dead?" I took my hand out of his grasp and stood up. "You mean to tell me that you aren't breathing. That your heart isn't..." I stopped I had put my hand to Jimmy's heart. There wasn't a beat.6

My eyes widended as I backed away towards the door, where Annabelle was. She stopped me before I fell over. She sighed, "Look Rosaline, it's nothing serious. I mean it's not like he's dead and in a grave or whatever." Then, she flipped her hair dark over her shoulders and rolled her eyes, but she still had a small smile on her face.7

My breathing was heavy. This couldn't be true. I walked over Jimmy one more to and checked every place on him for a heartbeat.8

There wasn't one.9

Jimmy sighed and sat me down beside him. "Rosa, I'm a vampire."10

My mouth flew open and my eyes widened. I didn't know what to say. Then my eyes changed into narrow slits and I crosses my arms. I scoffed and asked, "And I'm supposed to believe that?"11

Jimmy sighed again and Annabelle laughed dryly and said, "Oh, I've heard that one so many times." She stood up and stood over me. The next thing I knew she was straddling me and a hissing sound was coming from her. My eyes widened again. My breathing stopped. I almost passed out as I looked over and saw two fangs protruding from her mouth, very close to my neck. Then, as if nothing had happened, Annabelle was laying back on her elbows on the floor waiting for me to respond.12

How was I supposed to respond from an almost vampire attack?!13
