An Unchosen Destiny

Desi, the Vampire Princess, stood in the moonlight, allowing the wind to ruffle her hair.1

It was her wedding day and she was sad. 'Shouldn't I be happier?' she thought. 'I'm married now, I have someone to love me,' or so she thought.2

Her new husband, King of the Dark World, was a very handsom and powerful man. And he loved to show off his power. He often went to the human world for fun and killed unsuspecting mortals.3

This used to amuse her, but now she felt romoursful for those who died at her husbands' hands. 'How could he be so cruel?'4

Unknown to any of the other vampires, however, Desi often travelled to the human world, visiting the people that she never knew. There, she met James. A very kind Mortal Prince, the kind of prince her people would mock. But she didn't care, she wanted this human, and she wanted him badly.5

This was her forbidden love. She couldn't stand not being able to hold him in her arms and kiss him in the morning when she awoke.6

"This is my destiny...I suppose," she whispered. "It was just never meant to be, I shall never go back to their world."7

Suddenly, she felt hands wrap around her waist. "What are you doing up darling? It's late." Desi's king had awoken.8

"Oh, I just couldn't sleep darling. Go back to bed, I shall be there soon."9

The king nodded his head, heading back to the bed that they now shared.10

"So this is my destiny..."11
