Finding and Raising a Baby in Need Part 1

Kevin's POV1

I was walking down a sidewalk… well more like running since it was about to start raining. I was on my way to the studio that Joe, Nick, and I would be recording our new album at. I was about to pass an ally but I heard a faint cry coming from it. I stopped from hearing it, it had sounded like a babies cry. I went into the ally where I saw a small box. There was a bundle of blankets in the box. I went over to it and saw that the bundle was covering a baby. There was note on top of the blankets. I picked the note up and read it.2

Dear whoever finds my baby girl,3

I’m sorry I could not take care of this child; but I am only 21 and I don’t have the money to support the both of us. I hate to leave her here, but there are no orphanages around here and I can not turn to my parents for they have been deceased for three years. Please take care of the baby. Her birth date is May 17, 2008. I never named her, so the name is up to you.4

I looked at the date on my watch. It was June 17th. She was one month old to the day. I picked the baby girl up and pulled my phone out and sent Joe a text message.7

Joe/Kevin

Hey Joe, I can’t make it to the recording studio, could you and Nick meet me back at the hotel?8

Sure, what’s up?

I’ll explain when you get to the hotel. On your way pick up some diapers, formula, and baby food.9

Okay… we’ll see you in about twenty minutes.11

I put my phone in my pocket and I started walking back to the hotel. I got there just before it started raining. I was lucky, there were no reporters in sight. I got up to the room as quickly as possible where I found Joe and Nick already there with the stuff I had asked for. “Kevin… why do you have a baby in your arms?” Joe and Nick both asked slowly.14

“Well… I was running to the studio when I heard a baby’s cry coming from a ally. So I went into the ally and found this baby wrapped up in a box with this note on top of her,” I explained as the little bundle in my arms started to wiggle a bit.15

“Can we see the note?” Nick asked.16

“Sure,” I said as I handed them the note.17

“Wow…,” they said with tears in their eyes as they finished reading the note.18

“Yhea…,” I said as the little bundle opened her eyes. “We need a name for her.”19

"How about... Jessica!" Joe said.20

"Joe, we're not naming her after Jessica Alba," I said as I rocked her in my arms.21

"Okay," he said as he came over and looked at her. "She has such pretty blue eyes... how about Aqumarien??"22

"We're not naming her after a mermaid," I said.23

"Fine," he said pouting.24

"You always said if you had a daughter you'd name her Madison," Nick said.25

"I like the name but she doesn't look like a Madison to me," I said.26

"Okay... when did you become so picky on names??" Joe asked a bit to loudly.27

"Joe! Don't yell!" I whispered as she started to cry.28

"Sorry...," he said as I rocked her to try to calm her down.29

"Shhh-shhh-shhh-shhh-shhh. It's okay, don't cry," I said rocking her. She stopped crying after about ten minutes. "There see, you didn't need to cry."30

She cuddled up in the blankets and fell back asleep after about five more minutes. "Well let's go back to finding a name for her," Nick said.31

"Good idea," I said as I sat down on one of the bed in the room.32

"You know I think her mom would be happy that she found a good home just like she had hopped she would," Joe said. "Maybe it was your destiny to find her."33

"Hey... I think I just came up with a name," I said.34

"What is it?" Nick asked.35

"Destiny Hope Jonas," I said.36

"You realize Miley's real first name is Destiny and her middle name is Hope right?" Joe said.37

"Okay out with that name then," I said.38

We hadn't been really good friends with Miley since we found out she'd cheated on Nick with Jake (No offense to the Miley fans out there, I am a fan just as big as I used to be) "Well... it's a miracle you found her before something horible happened to her," Nick said. "So how about Miracle or Mia for short?"39

"I like it," I said. "And for her middle name will be Melody, because of our love of music."40

"So it's settled. Her name's Miracle Melody Jonas?" Joe said.41

"Yep," I said.42

"Should we call mom and dad now and tell them about her?" Joe asked.43

"I think waiting until it's at least 6:30 over there instead of three in the morning might be a good idea," I said as Miracle started to wake up again. "Hey there."44

She made some cooing sounds as she cuddled up in my arms. "She's so cute and tiny!" Joe said as he looked at her.45

"I know," I said as I ran my fingers through what little hair she had.46

She looked up at us as she wiggled around in the blankets. I unwrapped her and saw that she didn't have the best clothes on. They were prtty ratty and they were too big on her. "I think we should go get her some new clothes," Nick said seeing the clothes on her.47

"I think you're right," I said getting up.48

"Should one of us stay here with her or should all of us go with her?" Joe asked.49

"Well I don't think it would be the best thing if it got out to the press about this before we tell mom and dad," I said.50

"Good point. So which one of us should stay here with her?" Joe asked.51

"I will," I said.52

"Okay," Joe and Nick said as they left.53

Just then she started crying again. "Oh it's okay! Don't cry!" I said as I rocked her in my arms.54

She wouldn't stop crying though. "What's wrong? What's wrong Miracle?" I asked trying to figure out why she was crying.55

I held her up and tried to burp he but nothing happened. "Are you hungry?" I asked as I tried to feed her.56

She wouldn't eat anything though. She wasn't wet and it didn't smell like she needed to be changed. I started trying to burp her again and this time she ended up spitting up on me. She stopped crying though. "There you're all better now, huh?" I said as I set her down on the bed and changed my shirt.57

Joe and Nick came back about 20 minutes later. "What's with the diffrent shirt?" Joe asked seeing I had changed my shirt.58

"We had a bit of an... accident," I said.59

"What happened?" Nick asked.60

"She spit up on me," I said.61

"Oh...," they said62

"So how's she doing right now?" Joe asked.63

"Good," I said.64

"Where is she?" Nick asked seeing that she wasn't in my arms.65

"She's asleep, see?" I said pointing at the bed, where she was cuddled up under her blanket.66

"Okay, well we got her some clothes," Joe said.67

"Can I see?" I asked.68

"Sure," Nick said setting a back down on the bed.69

Joe pulled out some simple clothes that looked like they'd be comefortable for her. "Okay...," I said as I yawned.70

I hadn't slept very well the night before. "Kevin you need some sleep," Nick said seeing how tired I looked.71

"No, I'm fine," I said.72

"Kevin follow Miracle's example and take a nap," Joe said.73

"Okay, a nap does sound nice right now," I said.74

"And don't worry about Miracle. If she wakes up we'll take care of her," Nick said.75

"Okay," I said as I laid down on one of the beds and fell asleep.76

Nick's POV

As soon as Kevin fell into deep sleep Miracle woke up and started crying. "Oh, it's okay Miracle! What's wrong?" I said picking her up.77

"Is she hungry?" Joe asked pulling some of the formula out.78

"Let's see," I said getting some formula and putting it in a bottle.79

I heated it up and started feeding her. "I think that's a yes," I said as she started drinking down the formula.80

"I think she likes it," Joe said.81

After she'd finished all of it she curled up in my arms and yawned. "She's so small," I said as grabbed Joe's index finger and started sucking on it as she started to drift off.82

"She is," Joe said with a smile as I handed her to him. "And she really is a miracle."83

“She’s probably the biggest miracle that’s happened to us in a long time,” I said with a smile. “Besides getting to be a band that is… but she’s a living miracle. So she’s even more special.”84

“Yhea…,” Joe said as Miracle started crying again. “I think I know what’s wrong this time.”85

“What?” I asked.86

“Someone needs a changing,” he said trying to hand her to me.87

“Hey why are you giving her to me?” I asked. “Go change her.”88

“I don’t know how to change a baby though,” he said.89

“How can you not know how to change a baby? You have two younger brothers!” I said.90

“I was too little with you and I was never taught with Frankie since I never changed him,” he said.91

“Well I don’t know if it’s different when you change a girl than when you change a boy,” I said.92

“Well Kevin’s asleep and I don’t want to wake him up! What’d we do?” he asked as Miracle started crying even louder.93

“Well if we don’t hurry, she’s going to wake him up for us,” I said.94

“Should we call mom?” he asked.95

“Well it’s the only thing besides waking Kevin up I can think of,” I said.96

“Okay, I’ll call her.97

Joe’s POV98

I dialed the number as quickly as I possibly could. “Hello?” mom answered on the third ring.99

“Hi mom, it’s Joe,” I said.100

“Oh good morning Joe,” she said.101

“I have a question,” I said.102

“What is it?” she asked.103

“Well this is going to seem pretty weird and random but… how do you change a baby girl?” I asked.104

“Why?” she asked.105

“Please just answer the question,” I said.106

“The same way you change a baby boy,” she said.107

“Okay, thank you,” I said.108

“Now why are you asking me this?” she asked.109

“Well… can I explain later?” I asked.110

“Sure…,” she said sounding a bit worried.111

“Thanks! Bye!” I said hanging up.112

“Well?” Nick asked as he tried to calm Miracle down.113

“She said you change a baby girl like you change a baby boy,” I said.114

“Okay,” Nick said running into the bathroom with the stuff we had bought when we got her clothes.115

He came out about five minutes later with some white powder on his face and Miracle in his arms. “You look like you were baking cookies,” I said as Miracle looked at me.116

“Shut up Joe,” he said as he rocked her.117

“I like the outfit you picked out,” I said.118

“Thank you,” he said as he handed Miracle to me.119

“You look good in purple,” I said looking at the light purple, pajama like, outfit she was in.120

“She really likes that finger doesn’t she?” Nick asked as she grabbed my index finger and started sucking on it again.121

“Yes she does,” I said with a smile as I rocked her and she fell asleep.122

Kevin’s POV123

I woke up and saw Joe and Nick sitting on the bed, asleep with Miracle asleep in Joe’s arms and in new clothes. I went over and picked up Miracle. “Hey there Mira,” I said as she woke up in my arms. “I like this color on you,” I said looking at her purple outfit that she looked very comfy in.124

She gave off a small yawn as she curled up in my arms. I smiled as she cuddled up in my arms. “Hey Kevin,” Joe said waking up and seeing me.125

“Hey Joe, what happened while I was asleep?” I asked.126

“Well Miry woke up, we fed and changed her,” he said. “We had to call for help to change her though.”127

“What do you mean?” I asked.128

“We called mom and asked her how to change a baby girl, but we told her we’d explain why later,” he said.129

“Okay,” I said as Nick woke up.130

“Hey Kevin,” he said.131

“Hey Nick,” I said as Joe stood up and Miracle grabbed his index finger and started sucking on it.132

“What’s with her and my index finger?” Joe asked as I smiled and handed Miracle to him.133

“I don’t know, she must really like it though. This is the third time today,” Nick said.134

“Actually it’s like the tenth time. She kept grabbing my finger and sucking on the side of it in her sleep,” Joe said making me laugh a bit.135

Five years later136

“Daddy! I missed you so much!” Miracle said hugging me.137

“Hey Miracle! I missed you too!” I said hugging her back.138

“How come you had to leave for so long?” she asked.139

“I told you already, I had to go on tour with uncle Nick and uncle Joe,” I said.140

“How come I couldn’t come?” she asked.141

“Because you wouldn’t have had any fun being cooped up in a big bus all day and you wouldn’t have any fun when Joe, Nick, and I did our interviews,” I said.142

“Yes I would have!” she said. “I don’t like you being away for so long!”143

“I don’t like it either sweetie, maybe you can come next time,” I said.144

“Okay,” she said.145

Six months later146

"Daddy?" Miracle said as I pushed her on a swing at our local park.147

"Yes Mia?" I asked useing one of her nicknames.148

"Do I have a mommy?" she asked seeing all the kids in the park with their moms.149

"Of course you do," I said feeling a bit nervouse that the questions I'd been dreading were coming now.150

"Where is she then?" she asked.151

"Well...," I said not wanting to tell her that I'd just found her in an ally. "I'm not exactly sure," I said.152

"What do you mean?" she asked.153

"Well... I'll tell you when you're older, okay?" I said.154

"Okay," she said as I picked her up off of her swing. "Daddy?"155

"Yes?" I asked hoping it wasn't like the other question.156

"Why do other kids look like their daddy's but I don't look like you," she asked.157

"Well... it's too complicated to explain right now, let's go home," I said.158

"Okay... daddy," she said.159

"Yes?" I said hoping she would stop asking those types of questions.160

"I love you," she said wrapping her arms around my neck.161

"I love you too Miracle," I said with a smile as I started walking back to the house since it was only about a five minute walk away.162

After about five minutes later I walked inside with Miracle asleep in my arms. I looked at the clock and saw that it was about time for her nap. I laid her on her bed upstairs and went downstairs to start making our dinner. Just then the doorbell rang. I went and opened the door. "Hey Kevin!" Joe and Nick said.163

"Hi guys," I said as I heard someone walking as quietly as possible upstairs. I looked behind me, since that's where the staircase was, and saw Miracle peaking from behind a corner. When she saw me she quickly hid behind the wall, giggling a bit. "Guy's I just saw Miracle peeking from behind the wall, come on," I whispered as we tiptoed up the stairs.164

Miracle's POV

I was hiding behind the wall hoping daddy hadn't seen me. "Hey Miracle!" uncle Joe said picking me up and tickling me.165

"Ahhh! Help!" I giggled as I tried to squirm out of his grip.166

"Okay Joe, no riling her up before we tell her the news," daddy said getting me away from uncle Joe.167

"News? What news??" I asked excitedly.168

"Well... we all decided that you're going to get to come with us on our tour!" daddy said.169

"Really?? I love you daddy!" I said hugging him.170

"What about us?" uncle Joe asked pretending to look hurt.171

"I love you and uncle Nicky to!" I said hugging them.172

Kevin's POV

"Well we need to get you packed. We leave tomorrow," I said.173

"Okay!" she said.174

"Would you guys keep an eye on the dinner I'm making downstairs while I help her pack?" I asked as Miracle ran into her room.175

"Sure," Joe and Nick said running odwnstairs to watch the food I was making.176

When I got into her room she was looking at her baby book with a weird look in her eyes. "Daddy?" she said.177

"Yes?" I asked feeling a bit worried.178

"What's this?" she asked pulling a peice of paper out from behind a picture an handing it to me.179

I looked at it and saw that it was the note I'd fonud ontop of her when I'd first found her. "I-it's nothing Miracle," I said hoping she'd believe me.180

"But why was it in here then daddy?" she asked me.181

"Well... it was in there because...," I said nervously since I didn't think she was old enough to know yet.182

"Daddy, please tell me," she said looking up at me with a sad face that told me she knew I was trying to hide something from her.183

"Huh... come on," I said picking her up and carrying her down the stairs.184

When I got to the kitchen I saw that Joe and Nick were setting the table. "Guys, could you come out here?" I said.185

"Sure," they said as they came out into the living room after turning of the stove.186

"What's up?" Joe asked.187

"Well Miracle found the note and I think it's time to tell her," I said.188

"Oh... okay," Nick said looking a bit nervouse as did Joe, but neither looked nearly as nervouse as I did.189

"So what is it?" she asked looking at the note.190

"Well... it's a note," I said.191

"What's it about?" she asked.192

This was the talk I dreaded more than the where do babies come from talk, which luckily I hadn't had to give yet. "Huh... well about five years ago I was running to the studio uncle Joe and Nick would be recording a song in I heard a baby crying. Thing was the I heard it coming from an ally so I went into the ally and found a baby wrapped up in some blankets and she was in a box. This note was on top of the baby," I said.193

"Who was the baby?" she asked making it a bit harder for me.194

"Th-the baby was you sweetie," I said as she got tears in her eyes.195

"S-so my mommy didn't want me?" she asked as she started crying.196

"No, no, no! It's not that she didn't want you, she just... couldn't take care of you," I said trying to calm her down.197

"B-but why? She had you didn't she daddy?" she asked making my heart break in two.198

"Well no she didn't...," I said as I hugged her.199

"Why?" she asked.200

"Well... I don't actually know your mommy," I said trying not to cry.201

"What do you mean you don't know my mommy? Don't mommies and daddies know each other?" she asked.202

"Well yes they do," I said.203

"Then how do you not know her?" she asked as Joe looked like he was really uncomfortable.204

"Joe, Nick you can leave the room if you want," I said as they both looked a bit relieved and left the room.205

"Daddy? How do you not know her," she asked.206

"Well... I'm not your real daddy. I'm like your... replacement daddy," I said wishing I could be her real dad and not just her replacement dad.207

"B-but you are my real daddy!" she cried as she hugged me.208

"Oh Miracle, don't cry. It's okay," I said not wanting to see her cry.209

She looked up at me after about five minutes, when she had calmed down. "Daddy...," she said.210

"Yes Miracle?" I asked.211

"I love you," she said hugging me even tighter.212

"I love you two Miracle, and that will never change," I said as she tightened her hug even more.213

"Can I still come with you, uncle Joe, and uncle Nicky on tour?" she asked looking up at me.214

"Of course you can!" I said as she smiled a bit.215

At least this talk is over, hopefully.216

1 day later

We all got on the bus when it pulled up and headed for the bunks since it was still only 4:30 a.m. I fell asleep with Miracle cuddled up next to me since she'd been to tired to get up and go over to her bunk and I'd been to tired to carry her over. I woke up to a sudden halt. "What happened?" I said as I saw that Joe and Nick had fallen off of their bunks, they were sleeping on the top bunks.217

"I don't know... but let's do it again!" Joe said jumping up.218

"Joe be quiet! Miracle is still asleep," I said in a whisper as Miracle started to wake up.219

"What's going on daddy?" she asked seeing that we had stopped.220

"I'm not sure, but I'm going to go find out," I as I crawled out of the bed with Miracle close behind.221

"I think I know what happened," I said looking out the window.222

"What happened?" she asked trying to see out the window.223

"Here," I said lifting her up so she could see.224

"Wow," she said seeing a bunch of girls standing outside the bus. "Who are they daddy?"225

"A bunch of fans," I said as they all started screaming when they saw me.226

"Wow," she said the bus started moving again.227

I looked at my watch and saw that it was now 9:30. "Miracle you want me to read you a story while we wait to get to our first stop?" I asked.228

"Yes please!!" she said excitedly.229

"Okay which story do you want me to read?" I asked.230

"Could you make up one?" she asked.231

"I'll try," I said.232

"Okay," she said as I set her down.233

"Let's see," I said. "I know!" I said as I sat down on the bed where she had climbed up on.234

"Okay, please tell me the story," she said.235

"Once upon a time in kingdom far, far away, there was a princess and her name was Miracle," I said.236

"Like me?" she asked excitedly.237

"That's right! She was exactly like you. She had blond hair and blue eyes. Her daddy was the king and one of her uncles was the court jester and his name was Joe," I said.238

"Hey!" Joe said causing Miracle to giggle.239

"Her other uncle was the king's trusted advisor and his name was Nick," I said.240

"Awesome!" Nick said as Miracle laughed again.241

"Well anyway Miracle loved to go on adventures and with her daddy and uncles going on an important trip that she got to go along on she knew she'd have many adventures," I said.242

"Did she?" Miracle asked.243

"You'll have to wait until later to find out," I said as the bus stopped.244

"Okay," she said as I picked her up and got up.245

I held her close as we walked into the arena for our soud check. We had to get through a huge crowd of girls and reporters. When we finally got in I loosened my grip a bit and set her down and turned to Big Rob. "Could you watch her while we do sound check?" I asked him.246

"Of course," he said.247

"Thank you," I said as I turned to see that Miracle was gone. "Um... where did Miracle go?"248

I started looking around fantically as a sand bag landed right next to Joe. He jumped as he saw Miracle over by the ropes. She had been playing with them and now she was climbing up a ladder. "Miracle!" he yelled as she got higher.249

"Hi!" she said happily as she stopped climbing and looked down at Joe.250

"Miracle come down here right now," he said running over to the ladder.251

"Why?" she asked as I ran over with Nick.252

"Miracle please come down right now," I said looking at her with scarred eyes.253

"Okay," she said as she started climbing down but slipped and started falling.254

"Miracle!" I yelled as she landed in Joe's arms.255

"Thank God you're alright!" we all said as Nick and I ran over to her.256

She was crying from the scare but she was fine. "Oh it's okay Miracle, don't cry. It's alright, you luckily didn't get hurt," I said as Joe handed her to me and I rocked her in my arms.257

She stopped crying after about five minutes and we heard some people start coming in. "Guys we did sound check and everything works," Garbo said as Miracle hugged me.258

"Thanks Garbo," Joe said.259

"No problem," he said.260

After the concert

Joe's POV261

"Hey Miracle!" Kevin said as he ran over to where Miracle was sitting.262

"Daddy!" she said happily as Kevin picked her up and hugged her.263

I smiled at the memory of when she had first said Dada.264

Flashback

Miracle was about one and Kevin was tickling her. "Are you ticklish? Are you ticklish??" he asked as she giggled.265

"I think that a yes Kevin," I said smiling as I looked at how much she was giggling.266

"I think so," Nick said smiling.267

"I think you two are right!" Kevin said as he stopped tickling her.268

When Miracle stopped laughing she looked at us. She looked right at Kevin. "Dada," she said as Kevin got a big smile on his face.269

"Very good!" he said as he picked her up and hugged her.270

"Dada, dada, dada!" she said.271

Miracle's POV273

It was time for the meet and greet daddy, uncle Joe, and uncle Nick were having. I was in daddy's arms and a bunch of girls kept saying how cute I was and how much they love daddy, Joe, and Nick. "Hi," one girl said.274

"Hi," daddy said as he shook her hand and looked into her eyes.275

"I'm Brittany," she said as she shook her bleach blond hair.276

"Nice to meet you," daddy said. "Would you like to come backstage and hang out for a while when this is over?"277

"Sure!" she said as she smiled flashing perfectly white teeth.278

I clutched onto daddy's shirt as she moved and went backstage. After about ten more girls daddy said we had to go. We went backstage and saw the girl waiting there. "Hi Brittany!" daddy said looking at her.279

"Hi!" she said as I yawned a bit.280

"You tired Miracle?" daddy asked as I nooded my head and rested it on daddy's chest. "I'm going to go put Miracle in bed."281

"Kay, we'll come with you," Joe and Nick said.282

"Kay, You want to come Brittany?" daddy asked.283

"Sure!" she said sounding perky.284

I fell asleep after about three minutes.285

Kevin's POV286

I looked at Brittany who was standing there. She's so pretty. No I can't have a girlfriend right now. Not with Miracle on tour with us... but Brittany seems so sweet and she's so pretty. "So Brittany, what do you like to do?" I asked.287

"Well I sing, act, do sports, and a bunch of other stuff," she said.288

Could she be any more perfect? Maybe Miracle would enjoy anouther girl to hang out with. "Joe, Nick. Could I talk with you guys?" I said.289

"Sure," they said as we walked into anouther room.290

"What's up?" Joe asked.291

"I really like Brittany and I was wondering if it was okay with you guys if I invite her to come with us on tour," I said.292

"What about Miracle?" Nick asked.293

"Well I was thinking she might enjoy having anouther girl around," I said.294

"Well it's up to you," they both said.295

"Thanks guys!" I said giving them a hug.296

The next morning297

Miracle's POV

When I woke up I saw that, that lady was still here. "Daddy?" I said seeing him.298

"Good morning Miracle!" he said bending down and hugging me.299

"Daddy, why's she still here?" I asked.300

"She's going to be coming on tour with us," he said.301

"Oh... okay," I said as daddy started making me breakfast.302

"Brittany, could you watch Miracle while I go make her breakfast?" he asked.303

"Sure," she said.304

"Would you read me a story?" I asked her.305

"No," she said in an annoyed tone.306

"Why?" I asked.307

"Because I don't read to little kids," she said as she gave me a disgusted look.308

"B-but daddy said I'm a big girl," I said getting teary eyed from her tone.309

"Well you're not," she said. "And stop being a cry baby."310

I opened my mouth to say something but she stopped me. "And don't tell your daddy and uncles I was mean to you, even if you do they'll think you're lying and leave you forever," she said with a warning look.311

I looked away while I laid back down as I buried myself in the blankets. When daddy came out he saw me. "Miracle what's wrong?" he asked seeing the tears in my eyes.312

"Nothing," I said wiping my eyes and hugging him.313

"Why were you crying though?" he asked.314

"I wasn't crying," I said not wanting to tell him for fear that he really would think I was lying and he really would leave me forever with uncle Joe and uncle Nick.315

"But you were, Miracle you know you can tell me anything," daddy said as Brittany gave me a warning look.316

"I know, but I wasn't crying," I said trying not to cry again.317

"Okay, but you can always talk to me," he said.318

"Okay," I said as he hugged me. "Well how about you have breakfast?"319

"Okay," I said.320

After breakfast I laid back down so I could stay away from Brittany. "Miracle, are you feeling okay?" uncle Joe asked.321

"Yea," I said.322

"Why are you so sad then?" he asked as he sat down a gave me a hug.323

"I'm not sad...," I said as I hugged him.324

"Miracle, what's wrong?" he asked.325

"Nothing," I said as I hugged him even tighter.326

"Why are trying to squeeze the life out of me then?" he asked.327

"Sorry...," I said as I loosened my grip a bit.328

"Miracle, what's wrong? You know you can tell your daddy, uncle Nick, and me anything," he said. I couldn't take it anymore. I broke down and started crying into his shirt. "Oh Miracle, what's wrong?"329

"Br-Brittany," I said between tears.330

"What about Brittany?" he asked hugging me tighter.331

"Sh- she was mean to me."332

"Oh Miracle, what'd she do to you?"333

"She said that I'm not a big girl and she said I'm a cry baby."334

"Oh Miracle, why didn't you tell us sooner?"335

"She said you'd think I was lying and that you, daddy, and uncle Nicky would leave me forever! I don't want you to leave me!!"336

"Don't worry Miracle, we won't be leaving any time soon. Brittany on ther hand," he said picking me up. "Come on, we're going to go talk to your daddy and he'll deal with Brittany."337

Joe's POV

I took Miracle into the room that Kevin was talking to Brittany in. "Kevin, can we talk to you?" I said.338

"Sure," he said as Brittany didn't move.339

"Privately," I said.340

"Brittany, could you leave us alone for a few minutes?" he asked.341

"Sure," she said as she shot Miracle a look that made her tremble a bit.342

Kevin of course didn't notice it, but I did. I hugged her close. "So what's up?" he asked as Brittany left.343

"Brittany's got to go," I said plainly.344

"What? Why?" he asked.345

"She's been being mean to Miracle," I said as a few tears slid down Miracle's face.346

"Oh sweetie," he said he hugged her tightly. "What'd she do to you?"347

"She said I'm a cry baby and that I wasn't a big girl," she cried as she hugged Kevin tightly.348

"Miracle, why didn't you tell me sooner?"349

"She told me you'd think I was lying and you, uncle Joe, uncle Nicky would leave me forever. I was scarred she was right, I don't want you to leave me!" she said crying even harder.350

"Don't worry Miracle, we won't be leaving you anytime soon," Kevin said as he rubbed her back.351

"Kevin, she also gave her the death stare right before she left the room," I said.352

"Joe, watch Miracle while I go talk to Brittany," he said as he got up.353

"Kay," I said as I hugged her.354

Miracle's POV

I heard daddy yelling at Brittany angerly in the other room. I had never actually hear him when he was angry. It was a bit scary, after about ten minutes he came back in. He hugged me as he sat down. "It's okay Miracle, you'll never have to see or talk to Brittany again," he said as I hugged him tightly. "She's leaving today, when we get at our next stop."355

"Which is now," Joe said as the bus stopped.356

Later that night

Daddy carried me back onto the bus. He was really tired and I wasn't feeling very good. I just cuddled in his arms as he carried me towards my bed. He laid me down on my bed and climbed up the ladder and laid down on his bed while Uncle Nicky and Uncle Joe got in their beds. Daddy fell asleep as did Ucle Joe. I looked at Uncle Nicky who wasn't asleep yet. "Uncle Nicky," I said feeling sick.357

"Yes Miracle?" he asked.358

"I don't feel good," I said.359

Uncle Nicky got up and came over to me. "How don't you feel good?" he asked.360

"My head, throat, ears, and tummy hurt," I said as he felt my forehead.361

"Well you're warm," he said.362

"I don't feel warm," I said as I shivered.363

"You also have a case of the chills then," he said as I felt sick.364

He must have sensed it, because he quickly picked me up and ran me to the bathroom, where I threw up. He uhugged me as I cried from not feeling good. He carried me into the living room area of the bus where he sat on the couch and wrapped me up in a few blankets as he rocked me in his arms. I shivered as I pulled the blankets close to me while I continued to cry. "Hey Nick...," Daddy said coming out. "Miracle, what's wrong?"365

"She doesn't feel good," Uncle Nicky said as Daddy sat down.366

"Oh come here Miracle," he said as Uncle Nick handed me to him. I cuddled in his arms while I continued to cry. "How doesn't she feel good?"367

"She told me that her head, throat, ears, and stomach hurt, she also hes a bad case of the chills. Then I rushed her to the bathroom and she threw up," Uncle Nicky said as daddy hugged me.368

"It's going to be okay Miracle, come on," he said getting up.369

He went over to the driver and asked them to drive to a walk-in doctors office.370

After about half an hour the bus stopped and daddy carried me into the doctors office. Daddy made and appointment for me and sat down with me in his arms. About ten minutes later we were called in. Daddy carried me in and sat in the room we were led to with Uncle Joe, Uncle Nicky, and a body guard. The doctor came in about five minutes later. I grabbed onto Daddy's shirt, I didn't like doctors at all.371

Kevin's POV

I sighed as I pried Miracle from my shirt while she coughed. Miracle had never liked doctors.372

Miracle was only about six months old and she was coughing and sneezing up a storm. I looked down at her and saw that her nose was red and runny. Her coughed were sounding more and more croupier with every cough and she looked miserable. "Kevin... I think it's time to make a d-o-c-t-o-r-s appointment," Nick said spelling it so hopefully Miracle wouldn't know what it meant.374

Miracle started crying, she hated going to the doctors office even at that young an age. "I think she figured out what that means," Joe said as I rocked Miracle in my arms.375

"You guys are both right," I said sighing as I tried to calm Miracle. "Do either of you remember ever hating... it as much as Miracle hate it?"376

"Not really," Joe said.377

"Same here," Nick said.378

"Well another fun trip to it," I said sarcastically as I rocked her in my arms.379

I called the doctor's office and made an appointment for when we got home which would be tomorrow. Miracle looked up at me with pleading eyes as if to say she didn't need to go to the doctors and I should just cancel the appointment while she continued to cough and sneeze. I just sighed as I shook my head at her. She gabbed onto my shirt. "It will be okay Miracle, I promise. I'll be with you the whole time," I said as she looked like she might cry. "It's to help you feel better sweetie."380

She just started crying as I tried to calm her down.381

6 month old Miracle's POV382

I cried as Daddy rocked me in his arms, I didn't want to go to the doctors. Doctors are really scary to me! "Miracle, it's okay. You don't need to cry, I'll be with you the whole time," he said trying to comfort me.383

"Kevin, have her drink this," Uncle Nicky said handing Daddy a bottle with white stuff in it.384

"Formula?" he asked.385

"Yep," Uncle Nicky said as daddy had me drink the warm liquid.386

It was sweet and warm. I drank it slowly since my throat hurt. I yawned between the coughs when I finished. Daddy cradled me in his arms as Uncle Joe came over. I grabbed his finger and started sucking on it as Daddy handed me to him. I fell asleep as he rocked me and they all sang a really soft, sweet song to me.387

Nick's POV

Kevin pried Miracle off his shirt and handed her to the doctor. After about 15 minutes she was done. She handed Miracle to Kevin and said, "She pamonia and strep throat. Just give her the antibiotics I prescribe for her and have get plenty of rest she should be feeling fine in about a week," she said with a friendly smile as Miracle shivered in her blankets.388

"Okay, anything else we can do?" Kevin asked as Miracle cuddled in his arms trying to stay warm.389

"Humidifier if her nose gets stuffy and warm baths to keep her warm," she said.390

"Okay, thank you," we said.391

"You're welcome, I'll go write up the prescription."392

"Okay," we said.393

She left the room to go write up the prescriptionsas Kevin rocked Miracle. "See, it wasn't that bad and you did such a good job of behaving," he said as Miracle started coughing.394

Kevin's POV395

I rocked Miracle as the doctor came back in. She handed me a peice of paper and told me where to pick it up.396

"Thank you," I said as I got up.397

"You're welcome," she said with a smile as Miracle cuddled in my arms.398

After paying we went back to the bus as Miracle coughed, sneezed, and shivered in the cold night air.399

The next day

Miracle slept cuddled against my chest while I looked around and saw that the bus had stopped. We arrived at the place to get the prescriptions. I didn’t want to wake Miracle up so I had Joe and Nick run in and get them.400

Joe’s POV

Nick and I walked into the store. We were immediately swarmed with a bunch of screaming fans. Nick and I tried to get up to the counter to get the prescriptions but we couldn’t.401

“Okay, look girls,” I said sternly.402

The girls stopped screaming and I continued, “We need to get to the counter to get prescriptions. Can you all please just move out of our way. Then we will take a few pictures.”403

The girls moved out of the way and we got up to the counter, still being followed by them. We got the prescriptions and started to go towards the door. Nick and I took a few pictures and signed a couple of things and left. We got on the bus and Nick handed Kevin the prescriptions.404

Miracle’s POV405

Daddy woke me up and I saw he had the medicine in his hands. Uncle Nicky and Uncle Joe must have got it for him. I was too tired to take the medicine but daddy made me.406

“Now Miracle, you have to take this if you want to get better,” daddy told me.407

“I’m too tired. I want to go back to sleep daddy,” I told him.408

“After you take this, then you can go back to sleep. Okay?” he said.409

“Kay,” I said.410

Daddy read the bottle so he could give me the amount I needed. He gave me the amount and I had a hard time swallowing. My throat still hurt.411

“There, now you can go back to sleep,” daddy told me as I fell back asleep on his lap.412

Nick’s POV

I went over to Kevin and whispered, “Hey, do you want to get some sleep? I can stay up with Miracle while you go to bed.”413

“No, you get some sleep. I’ll be fine,” Kevin told me. He looked so exhausted.414

“Kay, wake me up if you need me,” I told him as I walked back to my bunk and got in.415

Joe had already fallen asleep. I couldn’t sleep that well either. I guess it was because knowing that Miracle was sick. I would occasionally look around the corner when I would wake up and see that Kevin was still up. Finally half way through the night I got up and made Kevin go to bed as I sat up with Miracle.416

That morning417

We arrived at the next stop. I had dozed off a few times but only for short minutes. Miracle would wake up every half hour and cough but it got better as the night went on. It was around 8:00 when Kevin got up and walked out of his bunk.418

“Hey, is Miracle okay?” he asked me.419

“Yea, she coughed through the night but she’s fine. She woke up once and asked where you were but I told her that you went to sleep and I was staying up with you. She said ‘oh’ and laid back down on my lap,” I told him.420

“That’s good,” Kevin said.421

"Yhea," I said as Miracle started to wake up.422

"Hey Miracle," Kevinsaid sitting down next to me.423

"Daddy," she said groggily as she opened herarms for a hug.424

"Hey," he said hugging her as she coughed.425

“Hi sweetie,” I said as I pushed her hair out of her face. “How are you feeling?”426

“Okay, I guess. I still don’t feel very good,” she said.427

“I know. The doctor said you need to get plenty of sleep and warm baths so how about we go to a hotel so you can sleep,” I said as she got off of Nick’s lap.428

“Kay. Thank you Uncle Nicky for staying up with me. I didn’t mean to make you stay up all night,” she said as she gave Nick a hug.429

“It’s okay. I couldn’t sleep anyway. Hey maybe when you’re feeling better we can go to the park,” Nick said.430

“Okay!” Miracle said as she ran over to her bunk and grabbed her pillow that had her name stitched on the front of it in Purple. Miracle ran back over to me and I lifted her up on my lap.431

“Hey Nick, can you hand me her brush from the bathroom?” I asked.432

“Sure,” Nick said and he got up and got her brush for me.433

I brushed Miracle’s hair and put it in a ponytail so it was out of her face. Mom had taught me how to fix girl’s hair when Mira’s started growing longer. Now it was down to the middle of her back so I figured she could use a hair cut.434

“Hey Nick, do you think Miracle needs a haircut? Her hair is down to the middle of her back,” I asked.435

“I would give her one. Plus it’s summertime so you know it’s got to be really hot on her. You know how Mom would always complain in the summer when her hair was too long,” Nick said.436

“Yeah, I’ll do it when she gets better,” I said.437

Joe got up and walked out in the front part of the bus. He forgot that he had no shirt on and just looked at us, then back at himself. I covered Miracle’s eyes.438

“Daddy, stop,” she said.439

“Um, I forgot to put on a shirt,” Joe said.440

“Yeah, I think you did. Go put one on,” I said.441

Joe walked back to his bunk and grabbed his shirt and put it on. I uncovered Miracle’s eyes.442

“Why’d you do that daddy?” she asked.443

“Because Uncle Joe forgot to put on a shirt,” I said.444

“Oh, ewww!” she said.445

“We know,” I said and Nick started laughing.446
