It was a warm summer day. Together we walked to the next class. 'What class we in actually?' asked Misha while 'that great!' The bell rang, and Misha and Chii both sighed. 'Yeah, like whatever Naetsu, just give me some sleep', Chii said. 'History and fun, give me a break', said Misha annoyed as she started leaning on Chii. 'Come on Nae, it's not as if we actually need it for something, right Chii?' 'I'd say it's best to let history rest in peace, just like the dead people', Chii replied to her. Both Naetsu and Misha stopped walking and stared at her while the boys almost walked in on them. 'Hey, watch it', said Nate as he almost walked in on Misha. The girls kept staring at Chii, who slowly turned around and looked at them. 'What? Is it something I said or did to make you girls go shushy on me? Or is it truly the fact that Naetsu found out she hates history almost as much as I do?' Misha started laughing and gave Naetsu a friendly push, but she did'’t seem to enjoy herself just as the other girls did. 'Let’s just hurry up already, we're going to be late for class.' She walked on looking at the ground to avoid the guys' looks as they followed her. 'Wait for me', said Kyo as he pretended to go slowmo. Even Naetsu had to laugh. Soki wrapped his arm around Naetsu and nodded to Chii, who smiled and winked back as they all went to History class together. 1
Class was boring, as usual. It seemed as if Lia, the teacher, was on her period once again. Who she didn't like, she would send to the headmaster immediately without a good reason. If there was one person who could turn a great and joyful day into one of the longest day of your life it would be her. It was either her or Melody, the woman that teaches English. God the guys couldn't stand her. Luckily Naetsu whispered answers to the others when Lia asked them a question, making her assume they were actually participating. Not as if they were, but at least they weren't sent out of class.2
'And with that, the Vietnamese war came to an end. Everyone, take out your notebooks and write down...' Students began to complain and whisper things. 'That woman is out of her mind!' 'I hate her, I hate history.' 'SILENCE! And if I say silence I mean it else you can all leave class and go to the headmasters office, then at least I wont be troubled by you little...' and after saying that the class became silent. 'I wouldn't be surprised to find out she doesn't have a love life', whispered Chii to Naetsu, who couldn't help herself and almost fell of her chair from laughter. 'Naetsu Matsuyama, what did you just say? If it's that funny I don’t think you mind sharing it with the rest of your classmates? And maybe the PRINCIPAL!' Chii stood up and gave Lia a devastating look. 'And if I'm correct young Miss ChiiSakura Hoshi is willing to escort you there.' Before Chii could say anything, Soki stood up and took the word. 'I guess she would be glad to Mrs. Suziyami, but unfortunately I have a better idea. The reason Naetsu laughed was because I asked her if I should write on the first or on the last page of the book since I wasn’t sure. That itself isn't a reason to be throwing her out of class and if you think it is I prefer you sending me out instead. I take all blame since I caused this...confusion?' Lia blushed looking at Soki but that wasn't a surprise, we all knew she liked him. 'I...think so. Don't let me hear such thing again or you girls will be in trouble.' Her lips started to shake. 'As for you mister Yuki, I would like it if next time you would keep such remarks to yourself. I hate arguing with...' she looked at him, head to toe, '...students. With that I'd like to end this class. Everybody OUT!' And with that, the students quickly grabbed their belongings and ran out of the classroom. 'Thanks Soki', Chii said softly as they walked out of class. 'I tried to keep calm, but she just pissed me off. The way she looked at Naetsu...so sickening.' She looked as if she just saw someone throwing up. 'It's okay, I'm used to it.' He sighed. 'We're just lucky Kyo found out she likes me, if one can be called lucky knowing that.' Both laughed, and as they walked to the cafeteria Chii saw how Soki checked Naetsu out. She smiled shaking her head and gave him a friendly shove walking on.3
When they arrived at the cafeteria they each went a different way. All would go to a separate part to buy the meal together. When Bryan went to get the sandwiches, Nate would take care of the drinks, Misha would get napkins and so on. Within five minutes all enjoyed their meals and warm drinks. Soki tapped Nate's arm. 'If I would die I hope an angel like her would come and take me to heaven', he said as he nodded to Naetsu. 'Yeah, better say nirvana', said Nate while he gazed at Misha, slowly eating his sandwich. Chii smiled looking in the distance. 'What is she smiling for?' whispered Naetsu to Misha, 'for some odd reason she just keeps on smiling. It's kind of freaking me out.' Misha laughed and almost choked on her drink. 'Lol! She's just smiling because she's spacing out again. Don't tell me you didn't know that.' Naetsu smiled and quickly took a bite of her sandwich to avoid the question. Chii kept on smiling and poked her cupcake. 4
After lunch they had English class, but they had so much fun they totally forgot about it and came in late. After explaining to Miss Mellody what happened, they made up an excuse about Chii losing her wallet, stood there, waiting anxiously. 'Next time pay more attention to where you leave your belongings Miss Hoshi. Now all take seats and silence please. We're on page 143 on how the English people...' The students sighed and turned the pages, and as soon as they did so, chaos paid a little visit. The guys made airplanes out of pages in their books, some girls were working on their make-up, several students were calling each other or text messaging. Nobody paid attention to Miss Mellody, who was trying so hard to continue and finish the class. Out of nowhere, Kyo turned around, scaring the others. 'You guys, do you know what day it is today?' They frowned and looked at each other. 'Uhm, Thursday? Don't you know that?' 'Nate, I know I'm stupid from time to time but this time it really is you. Today's Ryu's birthday. And he's throwing the party of the year. Invitations have been sent months ago, and I heard that if you're not invited you're a nobody. And we got invited! We have to go there, come on guys. Chii? Soki?' Soki and Naetsu looked shocked, while the others were smiling big and getting all excited. 'Uhm, you guys, Naetsu and I already made some plans for tonight. We...' Both looked down blushing red, grabbing each others hands. 'We...' started Naetsu, 'we were planning on going on a date...But if you guys mind we wont.' Both looked down sad and waiting. 'Oh come on you guys you knew this was coming. You got to be kidding me.' Kyo looked rather annoyed and slightly pissed at his brother. Chii hugged him, not looking at him. 'He's your brother Kyo, I will think of something, a plan, an excuse for Soki and Nae. Be right back.' With those words she took Naetsu and Misha by the hand and they ran out of class, into the girls bathroom. 5
'I'm so sorry', Naetsu said, 'I really didn't mean to ruin your fun, but we planned to go our first date tonight.' She looked down and plucked her skirt. From the way she acted Misha could tell that she really meant it. 'Oh sweety', said Misha and she sat down next to her, 'you know Chii and I don't mind, though Kyo is slightly upset. But don't mind him, I'm pretty sure Chii will figure something out for you guys, right Chii?' Chii just sat there, thinking. It felt as if years had passed before she finally opened her mouth. 'I think I got it. Soki can pretend to be sick, and you can "faint" during gym class. It is the last class we have today and that would be a good excuse since all the girls would notice.' 'Oh Chii, that's amazing’, Naetsu said, a smile appearing on her face. 'That's why we like you so much, you always think clear even in desperate situations.' 'Actually, I used that one long time ago...learnt that one from Nate, he's a good teacher.' Misha smiled. 'Yeah he's a good kisser also. But don't tell him I said so, we don't want him to get even more arrogant.' They laughed and Chii hugged both Misha and Naetsu. 'I love you girls.' 'But Chii, I'm rather surprised to find out you haven't been on a date with Kyo yet. I thought you liked him?' Chii froze for a second. 'Misha, I like him yes I do. But, I don't think it'll work out. I think he just sees me as a good friend, and I'm positive I'll learn to look at him like that myself too.' Chii sighed. 'Chii...' 'Let's just go back to class alright,' she said while trying to smile.
