REIGN1
You awake early each morning golden and fresh to find that I have 2
raisen and waited to take breakfast with you. Your favorite cup on the 3
table, the coffee brewed and waiting warmly.4
Through silences and conversations we share our joys and troubles. 5
Neither of us question what lies uneasily upon the ledges in the windows 6
of our eyes... within sight but untouchable. So I bury myself in my 7
work.8
Until one day you bring to the cottage a "friend." In the evening as if 9
on cue I go for a walk though there may be rain. You look at me 10
sheepishly, hoping that I will just go to my room and meditate...??? Or 11
whatever it is that you think that I do when I am alone.12
I tell you that the rain is refreshing... 13
Do you know why?14
No?!? In the rain I can cry... tears unseen are blended into billions 15
upon billions of rain drops all running lightly upon my cheeks. In the 16
rain I can let my pain show and you will never know. 17
In my solitude I tell myself that even the sky is sad. That she shares 18
her tears with me. Together we relieve pressures held within to long.19
Today though I shall not walk. There are windows I wish to open... 20
thoughts and feelings which need aired. The rain she beckons me onward... 21
but tonight I will send another into her embrace.22

Damned good poem. This was so sad and heart felt. I could see a story reaching out here, trekkergirl! You are a beautiful writer wherever you write. You have an uncanny knack for be able to produce so much feeling and giving food for thought in what you say. I very much loved this. The beginning was wonderfully set to entice the reader to follow you into the rain. You took their hand and showed them where you were going and the ending was well worth the walk. Thanks, trekkergirl. I am impressed.
