14~ So It Begins ~141

At first Dako blamed one of his servants for turning the light off in the house but after much trembling, Dako learned the outside world had gone dark. He was pleased that the moon was bright and had replaced the sun. He never liked the sun anyways but Dara didn’t love it any. 2

She was much better now and stood strongly beside him. Small candles had been lit but even then it didn’t erase the fear. All of the vampire’s that fell under his command, all the vampire’s on the East Coast, were huddled in this one room. The ball room and were looking at Dako expectantly, as if he could stop it. 3

“Dako, I’m scared” Dara whispered, when they moved away from everyone a bit. “I know” he whispered, wrapping his arm around her small body. “Shh, it’s alright” he felt her tremble, something she never, ever did. “I’m here” Dako continued and then tilted her chin up to look at him. “How about a song” he asked and she laughed softly. “Yeah” everyone else had been eavesdropping in and agreed. 4

“I am here, for you now” she sang while they listened. “I promise you, tonight we fly. Fly high above the tree tops and into the night. Take my hand, my sweet, sweet man. I promise I’ll take your pain. From here on out, we dance in the flames. A vampires way, forever, in eternity” her sweet voice echoing in the room. 5

“Magic, makes us love and all that we know will stay” she whispered closing her eyes as the moon too began to flicker, just as the sun had. “Stay with me, my man and make love to me” she continued, every one's eyes on the moon through the window. “We shall learn the dance and pretend were alive again” the light only lasted 2 seconds and the darkness 2 minutes. “Come with me, we fly tonight” tears flowed down Dara’s cheek whenever the light lasted long enough. “Come morning, we’ll be gone and forever in eternity” her voice was shaky and Dako wrapped his arms tighter around her, watching the moon over her shoulder. 6

“Don’t forget me, as I leave behind the others I have loved. Try to smile because I had stayed a while. A rose does not bleed but smiles. Take my hand, my sweet, sweet man. I promise I’ll take your pain. From here on out, we dance in the flames. A vampires way, forever, in eternity” she slowly started to hum the melody and suddenly the darkness wrapped around everything. 7

As Dara continued to hum, the flames on the candles danced. The only light in the entire room and it made everything seem so sad. Even them, the rulers of the night didn’t like this dark. 8

The Prochecy had come true. 9
