To Save Our World {Chapter 13}

13~ The Moon ~13 *Switches Views*1

“Everyone stay close, hold onto each other” Garic hollered loudly standing in the middle of the pack. 2

Tamara was gripping his hand tightly, almost too tight but he didn’t care. Elders brushed into him but he took comfort in that. All the werewolves in his family pressed together tightly, so they knew where they were. A few younger werewolves, let out soft whines and an older werewolf female, comforted them. 3

Even on the darkest day, werewolves could see clearly as if it was day time. Their eyes were designed for it but now. Now, they could see nothing at all. No movement, just pitch black and that worried them all. The sun had flickered on and off, then it disappeared all together. When the prophecy mention, light vanishing, Garic had no idea it would be this bad. 4

“I’m scared” a smaller female whispered and Garic wanted to comfort them. “It’ll be okay, just wait” he whispered and they fell silent yet again. “Never in my days” an elder male said and the leader could feel some one's thick fur press into him. “I know” it was Tamara this time that was trying to comfort herself more then anyone else. “Sit” Garic said realizing it might be a while. 5

Everyone lowered down and everyone bodies touched. Huddle in a huge circle, the whole pack felt comforted but still. They didn’t like this darkness one bit and Garic worried about Tamara. She pressed her muzzle under his and he closed his eyes. She whimpered softly and he wrapped his arms even tighter around her. 6

Suddenly pale light, broke the darkness and every one's face could be seen. Tamara stared wide eyes at the round shape in the distance, as if unsure what it was. The elders never looked so pleased and Garic smiled a bit. 7

“Get the fire going” the leader hollered, knowing the night had come. “Betric, fetch us some meat, my friend” Garic laughed, trying to free his body of the fear. “Yes, sir” he said and took off. “Good” Tamara whispered and Garic looked over at her in affection. 8

A few minutes later, when the moon had risen in the sky more, Betric returned with a huge bear. It was almost as big as he was and would feed the family well. Slowly everyone took turned eating but stayed close together. Fear still clung to their fur and the uneasy feeling did not vanish away. 9

“Please watch over us” Garic whispered, as he glanced over his pack. 10
