Ezra comes to visit me in my dreams quite often.2
He's always there to inspire me into adventure and romance. 3
...4
Ezra's always standing in that same damn grove of trees. 5
Ezra's beautiful. He's almost too beautiful to look at, he looks like an angel. No, an angel would look ghoulish next to him.6
His eyes are a bright green, almost like a cat's eye and his skin is like the snow. Ezra's hair is dark auburn. It shines though there is never any sun in this grove. 7
It's always the dead of winter, the trees are bare.8
Sometimes monsters come, sometimes it's quiet. But Ezra's always there. 9
He says the strangest and prettiest things to me. He calls me by my sophisticate, full name, instead of the cute nickname everyone else seems to like to call me.10
He says I'm his and I know it's true. He says it in the gentlest tone. Ezra's not controlling. He's not anything but perfect. 11
Whenever I do wake from my slumber or sometimes daydream I find myself with a motivation and inspiration that could never happen if he wasn't there.12
His darkness around the edges gives me the sinister appeal to my monsters.13
His goodness that I sense gives me the honest nature of my sometimes good characters. 14
His words from his pink lips give me the eloquence of the intelligent and sarcastic in my writing.15
He gives me everything. 16
"I want to help you too," I tell him. Ezra does nothing but give me a slight grin.17
"I fear that you are far too precious to me for you to give me what I want."18
His voice is like all the heavens and paradises stirred together.19
"What is that?" 20
"For you to die."21
My confusion must have shown on my face.22
"Then you could be in eternal rest, and therefore be with me forever."23
My eyes open and I find the urge to write a romantic scene. One with the most perfect boy you could ever imagine.24
So perfect that you could almost see his halo against the gray sky in that grove of trees. 25
Author notes
I actually do dream about this guy. Like a lot. So he is kind of real... in a way. Wish he was real.

i like this. the whole piece was well written and captured the whole fantasy/romance theme well. At first I thought that Ezra was a girl's name. (lol) thank you for entering and good luck!

wow, this was simple and breathtaking. I really like the almost... magical air of the whole thing. It really makes him seem like a muse and not just a guy you could meet on the street. He seems like someone who could definitely inspire someone, and that's, ideally, what a muse is supposed to do. I like that. &hearts

Holy cow. This was breathtaking. It was lovely and simple, but breathtaking as I said. Ezra sounds like a lovely and wonderful muse.. The ending of this blew me away. I was expecting it to be good as I read it, but the ending.. just.. I'm tingling. I don't think I have any more words.. I'm just.. in awe. Wow.
