Rage (part two)

Trinity didn't tell her story all at once. She couldn't do it. It seemed like forever that she had held all of her sadness inside, but she found courage. Besides, this man was a Policeman, he was a good guy!1

"My daddy never used to be mean." Trinity says, then stops, trying to remember when her Daddy had begun to get mean. It was so long ago.2

"I think it was after Mommy died. He got mean then, I remember now. He said mean things too, like 'you killed your mother'. I was so scared. He went out for a long time...and then when he got back..." 3

Trinity trails off.4

"It's okay, honey, I won't let your daddy know that you told me." The policeman gave another reassuring smile.5

"Well, he yelled at me. I covered my ears, but he didn't like that. He slapped me in the face. I remember, it hurt real bad." Trinity cries for a moment, remembering how it felt when her daddy had slapped her acrossed the face. She remembered the feeling well.6

The Policeman stands, and sits next to the crying Trinity. He hugs her tight to his chest, angry that her father would do something like this to his Nine year old child.7

"I thought he would get better. I even acted real good! But he never did. When he came home, he just hit me. Yell and hit. That's all he did! He would hit harder every time too. Once I even had a bloody nose! I couldn't stop crying. Daddy scared me alot.8

"Then one day he said that he was real sorry. He said that when he drank his bottle, he wasn't himself. I thought everything would be okay after that...but it wasn't. He never got better. He just kept yelling more and more. He drank his bottles more and more too. He said he had his bottle to make him happy, but he only yells when he's sad!"9

Trinity cries harder, unable to understand her father's pain. She wishes that she could. She wishes he would feel better.10

"Honey, can you tell me when your daddy usually comes home?" The police man asks.11

"I watch the time. He always comes back at 1:30. Always! But not this time...And I know when he gets off work, that's how I know that he's going to be late." Trinity looks down at her feet.12

The policeman smiles, but looks at her face closely. He gasps.13

A large purple bruise cover the left side of her face, but it is obvious that it was old. It was fading.14

"Honey, we are going to get your daddy, ok? I promise"15

* * *16

The Policeman goes out the door, and stand next to his friend. 17

"we are going to find her Dad" He says.18

"I hope so, I'd like to throttle him for doing this to his own child. Did you see her face?" his friend asks.19

"Yeah. And if he walks through those precinct doors, I'm going to lose my job."20

"Why's that?"21

The policeman smiles. "'Cause I won't let him get his child again. I am going to kick his Ass."

I like the second part, and I couldn't wait to get to the final part! It seemed to me like she was a real girl. I could feel her pain, and his anger. Makes me want to know what is going to happen next!

  • Alright, it looks like I'm going to hafta go back and read the first part lol.
This was really good and well-written--the best I've read so far this morning.

    Great job!
