Dont't Let Pressure Be Your Peer

Keloshas Mom had just bought her a brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. Kelosha was super duper extra over-sized happy for her new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. It was the first one that she had ever owned and the one that she had always wanted. All of her friends had already owned an MP3 player and now Kelosha had one of her very own. When Keloshas Mom had given her the new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound Kelosha had promised her that she would take extra special good care of it and wouldn't let anyone use it, not even her best-friend Monifa.1

Kelosha would run home from school everyday with the thought of listening to sweet sounds on her new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. Just as soon as she did all of her homework Kelosha would take out her MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. She would listen to it until her Mother called her to dinner each evening. After listening to it, Kelosha would use extra special good care putting it back in its case and then sit it on her bookself.2

One day Keloshas best-friend, Monifa came over to the house while Kelosha was listening to her new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. Monifa entered Keloshas bedroom and saw her grooving to the cool tunes of her new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound.
"WOW Kelosha, you didn't tell me that you got a brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound!", shouted Monifa.
" Yeah, I love it, my Mom bought it for me, its the 1st MP3 player I've ever owned and its the one that I've always wanted.", Kelosha said smiling.
"Cool, that's the same one that I've been wanted too...Shoot, I'm tired of my old MP3 player. Say Kelosha bring your new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to school tomorrow, And let me listen to it and I'll let you listen to my old one, okay Kelosha?", said Monifa.3

Ooh, Kelosha did not like the sound of that. She really didn't want anyone using her new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. It was the first one that she had ever owned. Besides, Kelosha had promised her Mother that she would take extra special good care of it and not let anyone use it, including her best-friend Monifa.4

"Uh, I don't think that I want to bring my new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to school Monifa", replied Kelosha.
"Aw, Kelosha...come on now, Kelosha PLEASE???", begged Monifa.
"NO Monifa, this is the first new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound that I have ever owned, I promised my Mom that I'd take extra special good care of it and not let anyone use it, including you Monifa, plus I don't want it to get broken.", sighed Kelosha.
"Aw man, you ain't no fun Kelosha.", whined Monifa, "you know that I'd do it for you."
"But Monifa...", Kelosha said sadly.
"Aw Kelosha, you just think that you all that now that you own a new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound.",fussed Monifa.
"No Monifa, Its really not that."Kelosha pleaded.
"Well Kelosha, if its really not that, and you really are my best-friend like you say you are, then you'll bring your brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to school tomorrow Kelosha.", Monifa said as she exited Keloshas room.5

Aw man, what do I do now thought Kelosha. I promised my Mom that I would not let anyone, including my best-friend, Monifa use my new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. And now Monifa wants me to let her use it at school tomorrow. If I don't take it to school and let her use it tomorrow then she might not want to be my best-friend anymore, I never thought that owning a brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound could make me feel like this. That night when Kelosha went to bed she could hardly sleep thinking about what to do.6

The next morning while Kelosha was getting ready for school, she thought of a plan.7

I know what to do, thought kelosha. i'll take my brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to school today. I'll Monifa, my bestfriend, use it while keeping a close eye on her. I'll make her sit down while she is using it that way I can make sure that nothing bad happens to it. Then Monifa won't be mad at me and we'll still be bestfriends. My mom won't even have to know that I let her use it. Yeah, that exactly what I'll do, thought Kelosha.8

Later on that day at school Monifa spotted Kelosha.
"Hey Kelosha, did you bring your brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to school with you today, huh bestfriend, my bestfriend?", asked Monifa.
Kelosha stood there looking at Monifa for a moment, finally she said, "Yeah Monifa, but I'm only Gonna let you use it to listen to one song and you have to sit down while you listening and be extra special careful that you don't drop it, scratch it, crack it, or break it, you hear me Monifa!" 9

"Yeah, yeah, alright Kelosha, I'm not Gonna drop it, scratch it, crack it ar break it, dag girl, now give it here," fussed Monifa. 10

"You better sit down first Monifa, I already told you," demanded Kelosha.11

When Monifa finally sat down Kelosha handed her brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to her, then Monifa handed her old MP3 player to Kelosha. Both girls at there grooving to the beat. Kelosha got so relaxed that she closed her eyes to enjoy the soothing sounds for just a split second. Within that blink-of-an-eye-split-second Monifa had dropped her brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound on the ground.12

"OOH shiz-nit!", yelled Kelosha, when she heard it THUMP as it hit the ground. "Dag, I knew that I shouldn't have bought my brand new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to school, I knew that I shoundn't have let anybody use it, I knew tjat something was gonna happen to it if I bought it out of my house", Kelosha complained.13

"Dag Kelosha, you acting like I did it on purpose, you acting like I meant to drop it, I don't need ya old stank MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound no way, I got my own", Monifa fused.14

"I didn't say that you meant to drop it Monifa and if you didn't need my old stank MP3 player then you shouldn't have asked me to use it and you should have used your own MP3 player like you just said, now how am I supposed to explain this to my Mom???", Kelosha said sadly.15

Monifa picked Keloshas MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound up off the ground. she played around with it for several minutes before it made a sound. "See Kelosha, you was all worried about nothing, you hear it playing now don't you?", said Monifa.16

"Alright Monifa,now give it here", Kelosha said feeling relieved.17

Later that day when Kelosha had made it home and finished all of her homework she decided to listen to her new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. Her MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound still played, only now it was skipping along instead of playing smoothly like it had been before Monifa dropped it on the ground. Ever since Monifa dropped my new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound on the ground it just ain't been playing right, Kelosha thought to herself. She paused for a moment, looking at her new, now damaged MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound before she placed it in its case and returned it to her bookself.18

Days had gone by and keloshas Mom noticed that she had not been listening to her new, now damaged MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. She decided to ask Kelosha why.19

"Kelosha, baby girl, why haven't you been listening to your new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound? I thought that you loved it, I had gotten so used to seeing you enjoy listening to it each day when you came home from school, where is it now Ke-Ke baby?", Keloshas Mom asked.20

"Uh, um...well, mom I haven't been listening to it because I need some new tunes downloaded into it, im tired of the same old songs, they get boring after a while," Kelosha told her mom. 21

"Oh Ke-ke baby, is that all? Go get it and bring it here." Keloshas mom said lovingly.22

"Um...Uh...well...um, okay mom, just a minute I'll go get it out of my room", muttered Kelosha.23

Kelosha went to her room and picked up her new, now damaged MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound then she stood there for a moment just thinking to herself. Oh snap, now my mom will know for sure that my new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound has been damaged. I had promised her that I would take extra special good care of it. Now this...Aw, man.24

Moments later Kelosha handed her new, now damaged MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound to her mom before she quickly turned and bolted out of the door. "Uh...Bye mom, I'll be back later, I love you", Kelosha said as she was leaving.25

Later that evening Keloshas mom decided to download some of the newest, hottest hits onto Keloshas MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. when the download was complete she decided to listento some cool tunes on it. Just as the music began to play she noticed a skip sound in the tune she was listening to. She thought it was just that song, so she selected another. They were all skipping. It didn't take her long to learn that skipping was not coming from the songs, but the MP3 player itself. Her mom knew that Kelosha loved her new MP3 player with Ultra Dynamic Bass Boost and Super-sonic surround sound. she wanted to get it fixed right away. she quickly hopped in her car and drove to the electronics repair shop. It hadn't taken the technician much time to fix it and it hadn't cost her much money either. She made it home only moments before Kelosha and her best friend, Monifa walked in the door.26
