Brian’s face contorted in an ugly expression , his mouth slightly open in a lazy droop. "I" Brian started but was cut off by a "Shut it” from me. I left it at that though, nothing more that may aggravate him into chasing me up the stairs that I was quickly climbing.1
My room was small, but homely. The long night and weekend hour shifts at "Hungry Horse" gave enough money for all those decorative little nick naks I had grown an attachment to, being a collector of all things classed “junk.”2
Turning the lock in the door I made my way to the mighty comfy looking bed, But my attention was lost as I caught a glimpse in the mirror. Turning my full attention to the haggard looking “fat” girl staring back.3
Lifting my shirt I rested a hand on my stomach and on came a wave of sickness for my body. Like a dropping in my stomach and a heaviness in my head. There was an obvious thickness that had attached itself since the last time I looked, and it had to go. No matter how little I ate it only seemed more and more revolting. Sighing I let my long green work top fall back to place. 4
There was a dry craving in my mouth, and I knew just what I needed. Under the bed it was, same place I left it. That little see through packet. I stared at it a moment, the smooth shiny surface reflecting the my bedroom light. I debated putting it back, just forgetting I had it for the night. Yet my hands betrayed my mind and popping the pills I lay down. Letting my body sink into the wearing mattress. It didn’t take long before my mind began to wander and nothing really made complete sense anymore.5
I woke with a start. It was still dark. A confused hazy feeling clouding my mind before things started to once again make sense. 05.00 read the clock. I had forgotten to get changed last night so deciding there was no hope in sleeping i rolled my body from bed onto the morning cold floor and lazily crawled my way across the room to the door. Frowning I looked up at the towel hooked on the door, dangling above my head. Maybe I should actually get up?. Meh. Using the handle for support I pulled myself up from the floor. Poking my head out I listened. The hallway was strangely quiet. 6
Not wanting to risk a not quite so happy “chit chat” with Brian I tiptoed my way to the bathroom. There was plenty time for a bath rather than a shower. Now for "How many bubbles can you get before it overflows." HUZAH!.” I chanted aloud. The hot water surrounded my body relaxing my strained muscles, and a content calm feeling took over. You know those odd moments, where for no reason, you just smile to yourself. "I’ve cracked.” I murmured to myself the corners of my mouth twitching mid smile.7
The walk to school was a long one, grey and gloomy, yet the birds continued to do my head in with their merry chirp. "EVAAAAANNNNNGALIINNNEEE!" I turned my body to see Faye’s long brown hair blowing a mess around her head as she ran to catch up. "Heeeyyy." She puffed, finally reaching me. "Hey you." I replied. Faye was that friend from birth kind of mate the one that knows your family, knows your life, and you just cant hide a dammed thing from them. Even if she hadn’t actually known me since a baby that was just how it felt. Those secret little giggles we’d share over as simple a word as egg and no one would have a clue but us two. So remember earlier?, when I mentioned that there were a few that had forced themselves into my life despite my stubbornness. Faye was one of them.8
I noticed Faye's face turn to a frown,as the unattractive building came to view where at the entrance stood Andy, Faye’s, as of 3 seconds ago ex boyfriend stood giving quite some passionate display of affection to Ashley may, the schools welcome matt. 9
However I doubted this would hurt Faye too much. It had lasted a whole week and a half, note the sarcasm, which was spent mostly of him ditching her and then giving some lame attempt at a forgive me. It quite obviously just wasn’t going to last much longer. Her pace quickened and I followed closely behind. Andy glanced over, his face taking on realisation that there was one angry looking girl storming his way. "Faye," Andy started. "You really are a jerk." Faye cut him off10
Ashley grinned inching her body closer to Andy in an attempt to make Faye jealous. "Sweetie, your not enough for him." She said in that sickening sing song voice of hers. You See, Faye was just far too nice to be mean to anyone. So shuffling uncomfortably she bit her lip. "Hey bitch, enjoy the leftovers." I answered for Faye. Ashley jutted out her chin in an unflattering manner and opened her mouth to reply. But this situation was boring and so lightly taking Faye’s arm I walked us away. Ashley’s whiney screeches were left behind for Andy to hear.11
So there was still half an hour or so until first class, global warming was doing its bit and the sun was poking through the clouds. If you sat long enough in one spot it felt almost like summer. How great. Prime doodling time. Taking out my sketch pad I started on a picture that had been in the back of my mind for some time now. It was one of those ideas that kept invading your thoughts at random moments and the only way to stop it was to simply create it.12
Faye had left a while ago. But there was a shadow blocking my quite carefully chosen light. Frowning I closed my pad, I didn’t particularly want it to be seen. Yet they stood rudely, not saying a word. Turning my head to look behind the sun blinded me for a second making the figures face too dark to actually see. The body structure looked male, he knelt down to my level giving an expressionless look at my face, and then the corner of his mouth raised in a slight smile.13
“Hey.” He said.14
