Kiss of death- Chapter 1

The dark was terrifying. I could see it now. The clouds had moved against each other in a scary looking massive, making me; a small little useless individual feel more alone than ever. I pitied myself for everything and nothing. Weird, huh? That was what I thought to. My thoughts were to occupied to pay attention to the little drops of water that started rushing through my hair. It made me shiver. Desperately I clutched my cold hands to my nearly frozen skin even though I knew it would be effortless, I was still shivering. How could I’ve been such a fool? He doesn’t love you, or else he would’ve showed up at your birthday party or at least called you. But he hadn’t done neither of those two things so how could you’ve ever hoped for him to love you. You stupid fool! 1

Shaking my head in disappointment, pressing my teeth hardly against each other, crying out loud, feeling the trembling of my cold feet made me attentive to the dark figure wildly rushing through the night. Instead I started to cry a loud and sorrowful cry. Sobbing. Crying once again. And eventually sobbing in the end. Bitterly I started wiping the tears from my face. He doesn’t love you. You stupid fool! The painful thoughts started once again to rush through my already crowded head. I dismissed them. I didn’t care any more, I was done with him. At least that was what I kept telling myself. The darkness flickered and for one brief moment I thought I’d seen the figure of a man. You’re probably just imagining, I told myself and slowly started walking back to my car. I laughed at the irony of the situation. I’d driven all the way to Phoenix just so that I could be for myself. Talk about a waste of fuel. 2

The darkness flickered once again. Nervously I started looking around. Maybe I wasn’t alone after all. I held my breath. Frightened. 3

“Hello, is anyone there?”, I asked desperately.4

The darkness flickered. And then right before my very eyes as if he’d appeared out of thin air a man was standing in front of me. 5

“Hello”, he said and disappeared, so quickly that I didn’t even see it or could catch the movement with my astounded eyes. 6

“Who are you?”, I said looking around in wild agony. This man was trying to make a fool out of me! I had seen him. For God’s sake I’d seen him!7

“Mmm you smell so nice”, he said, suddenly standing next to me.8

“How could…”, I said in horror with my heart thumping in panic. 9

He started touching my hair inhaling its smell with great pleasure. His nostrils widened as he slowly started to inhale and exhale.10

“You would make a great meal” 11

I was to gob struck to even comment. He was scaring the hell out of me, but I still couldn’t help looking at him. He was so beautiful. To beautiful, I thought looking at his deep honey coloured hair. I was too afraid to look into his eyes. They were terrifying pith black.12

“Please don’t hurt me”, I stuttered. 13

“Why were you crying?”, he asked completely ignoring my pleading. 14

“You’ve been hurt”, he confirmed. 15

“Isn’t so?”, he asked.16

I nodded my head to afraid to say anything. 17

“Who could’ve hurt such a beautiful creature as you?”, he asked slightly angry. 18

A tear started to move its way down my face to simply drop at the wet ground. Instinctively he pressed his long and pale finger to my face wiping the tear away. The coldness of his finger astounded me. I quickly removed it from my face.19

“You’re so cold”, I whispered through gritted teeth.20

The man chuckled as if I’d said something funny. 21

“I know I am but that doesn’t matter to me, but you young lady should be wearing a jacket”, he said, quickly taking off his own and pressing it down my tiny shoulders. 22

“I won’t be feeding on you. You’re way to interesting to be a simple meal even though I’m really hungry”, as he said that he looked longingly at my neck. And I uncomfortably hid it with my hand. His eyes looked into mine with a hungry glint. 23

“Maybe we’ll meet sometime. With that scent I will be able to smell you where ever you are” 24

“Goodnight”25

Before I was able to respond I felt a huge rush of air knocking my breath away. I hid my face with my hand feeling slightly dizzy. But as I slowly started to look up again I realized he wasn’t there anymore. The night had swallowed him.26
